  • Official Match Day Thread: Roosters v Knights

It’s been a long 6 days waiting for the opportunity for redemption. The players and staff are embarrassed by last week’s performance. Tonight we have the opportunity to right that wrong.

Let’s earn the two points and not assume we can take it easy just because we are a powerful club with a great roster. It’s time to wake up. We have put in three very mediocre performances so far this year. It’s time to play with the right attitude and roll up the sleeves.

Get the complacency out of our game and earn back the respect that has made our club so powerful. Nothing is for free.

    GO ROOSTERS!

    It's OK we got this.

Robbo spoke really nicely in an interview yesterday apparently & is assured the job is his until he's 95yrs old by Nick Politis.

Great roster you say? Not true, we don't have one current or previous Origin or international player in our team or any talented young players coming through.

All jokes aside I think it's a big ask without Teddy & Walker & our form the last few weeks to go up there in front of a big crowd against a team who's playing pretty well.

Can we make a statement & pull off an upset tonight & get our season back on track?

    I really hope so.

This could be a massive game for our season. If the attitude is right, we still have the cattle to win. (Am I allowed to say that nowadays ?)

      Bring it on.

I'm looking forward to this game as we played well without our stars last week. Dunno what it is but IMO having more of an ad-hoc team forces people to play a bit more of their natural footy. When that happens, anything's possible...

It’s only round 6 and we’re already on the bloody ropes, hate being pessimistic but boy are we in for a hiding to nothing if we don’t show up tonight.
A hill to steep with our outs, we have a punchers chance thats about it.
            Prove me wrong boys.

            Go Easts!!

I like that Keary has sole charge tonight. As long as the forwards are doing their thing the buck stops with him.

If we want to compete or even play finals this year, we need to win tonight. A 2/6 winning start would be dreadful for a team that was aiming to start the season fast.

Our forward pack is pretty much full strength (minus Leinu & Sandon). Yes we are missing a few backs but the guys filling in aren't terrible. If we turn up with the right attitude and energy there is no reason we can't win.

Hopefully the ref's give us a week off the embarrassingly bad calls.

Surly out luck turns this week with injuries and ref calls
we need to come out hard like we played the 2nd half last week
2 from 6 would be dreadful coming into storm next week
do we maybe have to many superstars who want to play in dinner suits compared to guys that get in and go?
the forwards should aim up and rads is back to his best! Looks like Gus is also firing again
expect a controlling game from Keary and a big game with magical moments from Manu

I think the media talk the roosters up being better then they actually are . until I see evidence otherwise I'll tip with my head .

A stern test for us tonight. It will come down to our intensity for 80 minutes, not just for periods of the game.

Defence and a power game in the forwards can win it for us. We have a great pack with good push off the bench. Play to our strengths tonight.

Less strike and points in us with the backline shuffles. If we can jag two or three tries, then we must defend our way to a win.

The kick pressure goes on to Kez both field position and attacking. Easier target for them to isolate and pressure. Winning the ruck and yardage game is important.

I think our attutude will be on tonight after last weeks poor start to the game. We must play as a team, and our good pack on paper needs to make a statement on the field.

Like the Dogs, they knocked us off this time last year and it's looking like the Chooks are in much the same rut again. Fortunately it doesn't look like rain.

                            I don't like this team.
swaliahi and keary are outta position. The reserve grade half should play.

Well we went within a bees of beating the storm in a final with a completely makeshift backline so this is hardly a new challenge.

I worry about Joey Manu though. This is the kind of game we really need him to step up for. But he doesn’t seem to be enjoying footy theses days. Doesn’t seem to smile much anymore.
