2019 GF, re watch it, Butcher earned respect for life.

Not his best game but defending with a new half, centre and winger combo on his side is not easy.

Nat Butcher topped the tackle count with 49 and 3 missed tackles. Rather ridiculous to suggest that eNat , Egan and Sitili should be moved on.

I noticed that he topped the tackle count again.

Nat Butcher is a very solid player who had a tough night - will be retained.
Stili - had not developed as hoped, poor defence, poor handling, injury prone - terminate.
E Butcher - undecided but back up at best.

              Answer: Nat Butcher.
So, if you don't mind, I'd like the Roosters to keep him.

              Sitili is a proven warrior.
              We should keep him too.

Whilst I have been a Nat fan purely for his defence and reliability last night was ordinary from him and I don't know if you can afford to carry 80min forwards that don't make any decent metres anymore.

Yes 50 tackles is impressive, but its not unusual for forwards anymore. I mean Gussy made 43 (albeit 6 missed) but ran for 187m (vs Nats 44m). You need to be good on both sides of the ball nowadays imo.

I'm not writing he or Sitili off but I'd like to see Wong be given an opportunity again.

Preference would be Gus on the left and Wong on the right side
With maybe Nat or sitili on the bench
Nat is solid but provides very little in attack with mtrs and when he misses easy tackles like he did last night hard to see where he fits in
sitili has had a slow start maybe a few games in nsw cup might do him well for confidence

Nat and Collins both had terrible games.

Better use them up in games we are expected to win. If it happens next week the Storm will have a picnic.

It was the worst game I've seen Nat play from memory. Doesn't matter if he made many tackles and had quadruplets, 3 poor misses directly lead directly to tries. Getting wrong footed by Jacko is quite a feat. To his credit he did stop Elliot late in the game when he thankfully hogged it.

NRL Stats have been updated - Nat Butcher - 50 tackles and 2 missed

Stats can be misleading unless you drill down

The Roosters certainly favour the left side in attack, so no wonder forwards on that side clock up more metres. There are many games when Manu, for instance, looks like a shag on a rock, barely touching the ball all game.

Up to Sam Walker or whoever is the half on that side if Sam Walker isn't playing to work that side better.

                              • Nat Butcher - 4 receipts - 44 Running Metres - Hit Up Metres - 29
                              • Angus Crichton - 18 receipts - 187 Running Metres - Hit Up Metres - 187

Nat Butcher average running metres per game

                              2018 - 65
