I watched the game against the knights and after the game there was Manu, JS and Toops together laughing and joking.

I thought shite, we are in trouble next year.

    What a back three.

In short... Manu is a true alternative fullback who's done his time on lower salaries than what he could get on the open market.

Whereas Latrell was a prodigal centre (world's best in 2018-19) who didn't need to be a FB. We offered him $$$ to stay but his goal was to be a fullback & indigenous rights activist.

Not sledging his goals (he's achieved way more in life than I ever will so good on him). However I think Manu's offered more for us over a sustained period of time while showing a LOT more resilience. He's also a true FB option, so I think that makes losing him kinda sad.

I didn't miss Latrine from the day he left.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

Would've welcomed RTS back with open arms.

          Teddy
          Toops
          Billy Smith / Jenko
          Manu
          RTS / Suaalii

I'm not convinced with Dom Young just yet.

Incredibly sad when he leaves however, he’s 27 he will go to Yawnion and do a RTS and come back in 12 months ( if he doesn’t and comes back in 2 years) at which point Teddy will be in his final year of his contract he will claim the FB spot he will be 29 made his cash in Yawnion without firing a shot for the All Blacks, he won’t just walk into that team different game, he won’t be able to play that ad lib he enjoys so much in league, what shit game.

I hope this happens anyway and he comes straight back in 12 months.

              Geez.

Newcastle back of the year 2023.
              23 NRL tries in 2023.

7 games in for us on a 4-year contract.

              Your hard to please.

If he goes to Japan or France he won’t be eligible for the ABs anyway
the Japan comp starts in December and finishes May so he could potentially be back half we through next year if he goes there

loved RTS we did replace him well with Teddy
mitchell would have been the best centre if he stayed there when he plays rep footy he goes well there
I can’t believe we are going to loose Manu as well such a shame

Oh really I thought he was automatically eligible so he would have to play in the rugby comp to be eligible?

Back by May next year lol imagine the outrage.

Yep he would have to go to a NZ based super rugby side to be eligible as they don’t select players playing outside of NZ
and there is more money in France or Japan as well

Cheers for that info I had no idea.

Hopefully he will be back sooner than I expected.

Trent inherited a great squad from Brian Smith look at it now.
Outside backs recruitment has been terrible over the last few seasons , very average with zero pace has been the standard .
in saying that the market has been pretty ordinary for a while.
