  • Keary charged

Grade one Contrary Conduct, for avoidable contact with a match official.

$1k fine with a guilty plea, $1.5k if he challenges and fails.

I didn't notice the incident. Anyone know the timestamp of when this occurred? I'd like to have a look and see how we're being screwed over this time.

Definitely not necessary, just reached out and grabbed the ref, about the 4min mark.

Was in the 5th minute I just watched it back.

Gerard Sutton runs a classic obstruction on the inside shoulder, I'm not sure why Keary grabbed him but I'm also not sure why Gerard Sutton is out there running obstruction on the players. You're not a player, you don't have to be that close to the action that your basically running a support line for the ball carrier.

Ultimately Keary doesnt have to grab him, so he will have to take the 1k fine. I understand the standard they are trying to set so I'm fine with it.

They have to be taking the pearce here surely.

Only problem is if you are going to hit Sutton, make it a decent one.

Looks pretty stupid. IMO he's lucky they didn't take it further. Not sure what he was hoping to achieve there...

Just cop it and move on..

Maybe this put Sutton in the mood to officiate the way he did for the rest of the game.

The guy deserves a piledrive to the face.

Unnecessary, but I suspect Keary was somehow letting the imbecile ref know that he was getting in the effing way. Sutton ran obstruction all bloody night for Newcastle.

Keary knew Sutton was playing for the Knights.

Don't touch the referee at all this has been a thing for decades and it's only been a few weeks since it was the news how dumb do you have to be to touch a referee after Hughes just got suspended for it?

I like pappy, but shouldn’t be playing against us next week after his hip drop tonight.

Was he put on report? I've just come in from dinner so didn't see it.

Yep on report, they said the reason he didn’t go to the bin was because the tackled player got straight up.

Keary always play's well when he's fire up. He was a little ant last night.
