To be honest, I think while our attack has certainly been outright poor for multiple seasons, the reality is that pretty much all five tries came from a bit of luck tonight. The Storm didn't look a whole lot better, but the additional pace they had on the flanks was threatening.
Man, that kick from Teddy on the 2nd or so tackle with Munster in the bin... Kicked it basically straight into 4 Melbourne players and 0 Roosters. Not his best moment. Right when we started opening them up to. It's that sort of game-sense that we seem to lack so much. They're down a player, we're on their goal-line, and we just start splitting them in the middle. The last thing you do there is an early kick.
Highly competitive game, but competitive isn't enough and the season is slipping a little bit. We've got to start winning against some of the strong teams we face.
Outside from how lateral we are in attack, I find that so many times when someone makes a half break or pokes their nose through, there is just no-one running off their hip. It's almost as if they're setting for the next play. I think in general even on our standard hit-ups, we need way more bodies in motion, at multiple angles - inside and outside.
Certainly not ideal with the Broncos and Warriors to play in the next 3 weeks. We do like making things difficult for ourselves. Definitely going to need to go back to the drawing board, because this isn't working.
