  • Robbo till I die mentality

I respect all views & dont pretend to be high & mighty but i'm genuinely baffled why some have a certain view.

This form or way we play or lack of wins against quality teams hasn't happened overnight.

Doesn't 10 straight losses v Panthers or 9 out of 10 v Storm (or is it 10 out of 11 now?) not resonate with some?

Does the struggling to make the top 8 & needing to win 8-10 straight the last few years not resonate with some?

Does our spluttering attack against quality teams & playing players out of position forever before making change & suspect signings not resonate with some?

Does anyone seriously believe that in his 12th year Robbo is making us a better team?

My question is for the ones that think Robbo is untouchable or has the job for as long as he wants or he's irreplaceable & is paid very well for us to underperform is when is enough enough?

Why the love for mediocrity with a team like ours?

Mate, we didn't employ him. Ask Nick Politis.

Don't worry Nick is piling on the pressure and it's obvious the coach is feeling it as is the whole team.

        Nick sacked Freddy for less.

Does 3 straight premierships from the Riff tell you anything?

I’m not calling for his head on a spike just yet, however no one should be untouchable if they are consistently not getting the results they are paid to achieve. Neither Robbo nor our players should be no different to anyone else in any other industry. And before anyone says “but it’s just a game” let me just say bullshit, it’s their jobs and they are all paid extraordinarily well to perform them. Nick knows this better than most.

It will be interesting to see if some of the media narrative around Robbo changes and questions and some pressure is applied.

Would it be fair to say that the clubs best years both on and off the field have been during Robbo's tenure?

Alex Ferguson was at Man U for 27 years and won six F.A. Cups and 13 Premier leagues.

Do we measure Robbo against him?

It's not the coach, it's the team. It's either the walking wounded or the living dead out there.

That first 20 minutes last night on either side of the ball was great.

But the second half was all sideways and chuck it to Manu. Who went even more sideways himself.

Was it because of fatigue? Was the game plan to win in the first 20 then have a holding pattern for the rest of the game?

Watson (great player but not a half) didn't help the right side attack, just too indecisive.

It's frustrating because you can see some supreme footy in us and then it becomes really directionless and panic plays all over the shop like tedescos kick on the third.

Formerly Stringaz, from the old Wall!

Robbo is an interesting discussion point because every year we go through this and things never change. Realistically we should've beaten the Bulldogs and Manly so at this point we should be top 4 but instead we're 9th.

However, Robbo will probably steer us to 5th or 6th again and these opening matches will be forgotten about...

                        Didn't ask that.

Ii'm asking why some supporters have their stance on Robbo when he's not the same coach anymore & we have declined as a team.

Generally interested in other Rooster fans opinions.

But you can't simply look at the negatives without the positives, as well. We were a basket-case before he came to the Roosters, and we have missed the finals once in what, 11 years? We've also won three comps. This isn't about living on past glories, but rather perspective.

A few of those years (2020, 2021 most notably), I doubt any coach in the competition would have done better, considering the injuries we had.

Obviously he isn't doing his best work at the moment, and I'm sure he's aware of that. He makes mistakes (Tupou on the bench in the 2017 final?), but it's also a matter of who would you even replace him with? And he has absolutely earned the right to be given the benefit of the doubt for a significant amount of time.

lol. You’ve got a very short memory about some of the goings on in 2009 if you think that’s true.

I’m not one to judge anyone until seasons end, that is the result that matters not losing in a close game last night against a top 3 side.. over the last few years we have been very very unlucky with injuries to key players and it has resulted in a few very clunky years.. however I don’t believe Robbo just suddenly has become a shit coach after delivering 3 premierships out of 3 appearances.. including against Bellamy’s storm with one player as a passenger.

i trust in Robbo to get us another title before his time is done. As for the question about mediocrity? There are teams who would kill to have the success we have had over the last 11 years. The amount of joy I have had being able to experience 2013 and the back to back premierships is enough for me to support this guy till his done. 2013 gf was one of the best nights of my life and he made that happen.. so fk it im on this band wagon till the end baby haha
