We continue as we started finish in the bottom of the 8 and go out week 1 or 2 in finals ?

Get worse and miss the finals, this results in a major wake up call and big changes for next season ?

Always want to finish as high as possible....in saying that,I do believe our run at the end of last year somewhat 'smothered' some clear deficiencies in our game

Bloody tough question. I think as a club we do need a complete review and overhaul, but I don’t think it will happen if we squeak into the 8 and get bundled out early yet again. My fear is without the review/overhaul, the coming years will see us continue to lose most games against the top teams and cement our place as just a middle of the road team like we were for much of the 80s & 90s.

Our GF success since 75 has come from the injection of greatness like a Fittler, SBW or a Cronk, aligning with an already good quality squad, a few high potential youngsters and a coaching staff that bring fresh ideas and an different approach to the rest. No surprise Sticky and Robbo won premierships in their 1st season as head coach.

Other teams seem to be able to play at a consistent level for most of the season, losing a few games here or there.Trent only seems to only be able to get half season out of his on a consistent basis.
Just Scraping into the Semifinals as others have said makes the team and Trent look better than what they were throughout the season . The club needs good review and clean out.

Being ordinary for most of the season and then scraping into the finals with a late resurgence isn't good enough Imo. If it continues the coach should be placed on notice.

This might be a bit corny but over the years I've learnt to enjoy the little wins.

Winning ANZAC day for me tomorrow would be another great memory in the bank, I absolutely love everything about the day and have been going since 2006. Good and bad memories pretty much every single time, its never an indifferent moment.

Watching a young man debut and excel or watching a young man develop into a star. You don't get that privilege in losing sides.

Beating clubs like the Rabbitohs, Broncos & Bulldogs never gets old for me.

I like many others just love the escape this club gives me from my everyday life, I dont think I could ever wish for that to go bad...

It would have to be pretty dire circumstances for me to want our club to get worse so action was taken and we are so far off that at the moment it's not even something I would consider.

they're not the only 2 options! we're 3 from 7 but it's early days and finishing top 4 isn't beyond us and if we do finish 5-8 then no reason we can't go onto win it.
hoping we miss the 8 so that 'changes that need to be made are made' is just bullshit

I’ve been following the mighty Roosters all of my 57 years & they have always brought me joy no matter where they finish.
Winning the comps great but it’s not the be all & end all.
I actually think there is a lot of whingers on here who's expectations are too high.
The Roosters are a great club with a great coach just enjoy it for what it is.
                    Hopefully we win tomorrow.

I agree Mate. Beat Souths twice a year then it's a good one.

Who could be confident that a bottom 8 finish would result in a review and cleanout?

On that basis, I'd rather a top 8 finish. The stats seem to remember that and it looks good on a resume.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

I'd prefer that we make the finals. Going shyte won't magically lead to some sorta shake-up (and a shake-up wouldn't necessarily improve our performance). It's not as if shyte teams just sack their coach, retire under-performing players and start winning. Most of the teams that do that are permanent cellar dwellers.

Also, who says it's either / or? The way I see it we have largely lost to respectable teams this year (and narrowly!!!)

Why be so farking glum? I want us to do as well as possible. It's almost as if there's people on here who'd prefer we get the spoon rather than making a GF and losing in golden point time coz then Robbo and our leadership group will be under the pump (and they don't want them to come good). Fark that!!! Souffs are 2nd last and they're getting the spoon, not us!!!

I hope we finish strong and win a premiership. Anybody else?

As Big Jack Gibson said "Winning 1 game is a Success"

Making the finals is a successful season as is improving your ladder standing from the previous year.

Only 1 team can win a comp every year which doesn't mean the other 16 teams failed.

17 games to go in the regular season so no need for panic or knee jerk reactions

I'd rather option 3: We pull our fingers out, go on a run, finish in the top 4 and win the comp. We are overdue. Let's start this run tomorrow.
