Wrong……I clarified that I was sarcastically referring to a bullshit head knock at training (away from the cameras) so we could do a Souths and medically retire an otherwise healthy player who is past it; you know, zero impact on our salary cap. Pick your battles better turd breath.

BTW; I thought you’d blocked me last year so I stoked to know that you’re still interested in my opinions.

Walkers ab lib game and kicking game was on point yesterday, one of his best games ever, his hindsight to kick through for the Manu try after the Nat Butcher break was of a mature play maker.
Different game and different era, i remember Kevin Hastings controlling a game like that against Penrith at Penrith Park back in 1983, torrential rain and Hastings came up with everything that day, beautiful passing and kicking game, his beautifully weighted kicks led to Marty Gurr scoring two tries, Roosters won 17-0 in abysmal conditions,

For me Sandon Smith is a better or more natural controller , feel positive about this partnership in the years to come

Pointing out the obvious, ditch the organising/game manager style, which he is not suited to at this stage of his career and may never be, and get back to his running, passing, and kicking game.

It's good to see the whipping boys of some in Luke Keary, Nat Butcher, and the Dominator (Dom Young), for instance, star as well. Will their detractors acknowledge their performances today?

Sam will eventually develop those skills to organise the team. Players like A Johns and Thurston started as instinctive off the cuff players that developed into great organising half backs. We need to give him time. Unfortunately there are a lot of impatient fans out there though who want to see it all now.

Could be the best halfback performance since Freeman or Hastings.

Let him just play his natural game!

We look so much more lethal for it.

I guess I’m thinking does ihe need to develop this side when Sandon already possesses this attributes?

It’s all good, upwards on onwards

                Stellar performance.
Yeah I liked how Robbo put it in the presser. He sees the game differently to others and does a lot of creative plays whenever there's space. However, rugby league has rules and you've gotta learn to follow them first (plus earn your right to play like Walker did today).

As fans we've all endured a few rough weeks so IMO we should just enjoy this one (no need to over-critique such games - best to just enjoy the Prosecco).

However, I dare say that the next challenge for Walker's development will be providing this sorta brilliance in positions where it breaks Clear / Munster's backs during tight contests.

My all time favourite half. Very unlucky that he played at the same time as Sterling and Mortimer as he would have been the Aust half for many years.

Sam really unlocked Joey on the right edge with quality, early ball. Makes the recent headache about who plays 1 go away if they can build on this.

On a slightly negative note, on an arvo where pretty much every rooster had a field day, teddy still looked a bit out of sorts. Teddy you don't have to do it alone or score off every play!!!

Dang, you've got a good memory.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

Sam Walker today- that was special. The short kicking game reminded me of Alf Langer. To think he is 21 with still plenty of room for improvement that will come with experience.
Ain't that the truth. It's about winning the ruck yardage and speed.

I can remember Hastings getting a 10 out of 10 rating from Rugby league week in a game against Canterbury at the Sports ground.

Towards the end I think he copped a knock and was slow to recover his position.

He played well, but he was far from the best out there.
