Short memories some people. The 2023 team was smashed by injuries in the finals but still got to within about 90 seconds of a prelim with a backline in the final against the storm which included Pauga, Momorovski, Allen & Paulo. It obviously takes a very good coach to do that.

Best performance in 5 years … a performance worthy of the most stacked side in rugby league
Walker utterly sublime today … you will never see a better performance from a number 7 ever in your life … yet I believe some genius dropped him last year?
All the other blokes who always cop stick here … Crichton … Cheese … Keary … Suaalii … and so on and so forth … they are all quality footballers
This is the best squad in league … once again … but this time with feeling … yet we’re still 4-4
We need to win the comp this year or at least come awfully close … that is how good this lineup is … no more excuses … if Robbo beats the Broncs in Brisbane next week Nick can resign him until 2029 for all I care … if not he is going back on the rack again

I disagree. Melbourne is an interesting case. Players are essentially isolated and unrecognised which promotes a solid bonding among them. They would spend a lot of time together which shows in the way that they clearly play for each other.
In WW1 Australian divisions really did become an effective fighting force and historians speculate that because they received no home leave, in their isolation a tight communal bond formed among them which was quite different to the norm. I see a similar situation with Melbourne's Esprit de Corps.

Please tell more about your psychosomatic theories … what sort of bonding do they naturally have in Townsville? Canberra? Newcastle? how about us? how is the bonding in Bondi?

We’ll show them that we’re made tough here in the nations capital and don’t need all the flash things those know it all Sydney siders take for granted. Enough of an explanation for you? I’m not a Faiders fan but I’ve lived here for 40 years now. I know what it is to be a Canberran. It’s very easy for Canberrans to bond against Sydney which is perceived to get all the favours and which looks down on Canberrans and our great city.
But yes you reiterate my point … every team has their own set of circumstances that could be seen as advantageous when they are doing well or disadvantageous when they are not … no need to look for complicated solutions to simple problems

Canberra, Newcastle and Townville are Rugby League towns . Melbourne is not.
These are just my opinions. You agree or disagree. You might be a bit quick on the trigger because, otherwise, you have interesting things to say. You need to woo your detractors.
