Haha, I’m assuming he would get a good laugh out of that.

As an aside, part of being a coach in a professional sport is having a great team of support staff and tacticians, and good recruitment/retention plans.
Robbo’s time will end eventually and I concede that we need to start beating Penrith and Storm, but most teams are inconsistent in the first half of the season, unless you’re like the old Merge that used to always peak in April / May. Maybe the change over of players from next year will also see Trent reinvigorated and he’s coaching tactics and ideas evolve. I agree with what you say about having a good support staff too. It’s essential these days.

You seem confused, Les, as on one hand you keep saying the Roosters team is stacked and the best and should be winning, and now you are saying the best team doesn't necessarily win.

Many are still waiting for you to back up the statement that the Roosters have the best squad / most stacked squad by a country mile - Only thing you have said is that they have Tedesco

You conveniently leave out the injury toll and that the Roosters haven't fielded their best 17 since 2019 as one poster posted

Brisbane and Penrith for instance had 15 of their best 17 play 20 or more games in 2023. - Roosters had only 9 players that played 20 or more games in 2023 in total. - 30 players used

26 game season - 24 regular season games and 2 finals games
        1. Luke Keary - 26
        2. Lindsay Collins - 25
        3. Nat Butcher - 24
        4. Egan Butcher - 21
        5. Joseph - Aukuso Sua'ali'i - 21
        6. James Tedesco - 21
        7. Joseph Manu - 21
        8. Victor Radley - 21
        9. Brandon Smith - 21

Salvo if you know anything … which you do … then you know I am not confused

This is the best squad in football … and has been for a couple of years … this year it is extremely palpable

If you think the coach is superb … which you do … because you’re a very loyal club man and your loyalty blinds you … then let’s see it every single week give or take 10% … it shouldn’t take 5 years to get some mojo

Don’t ask me to compare lineups anymore … I’ve done that … you don’t rate Crichton … you rate Hutchinson … that’s just blinkered mate … I watched the Bulldogs today … they would be super slick without him bogging up the middle … he may be a good bloke but he is too slow … too unathletic … for NRL level

Yet this is the 3rd season in a row we’ve started out negative

The time has come to make some hay … perhaps for the last time in some time … best side in league … end of story

This is our strongest & last chance this year with this roster because moving forward next year without JWH, Manu, Keary & maybe another 1 or 2 realistically will probably close our premiership window for a little while.

Will be the end of a fantastic era.

Unless we pick up some big signings.

I am yet to see Les back up his statement that the Roosters have had the best squad/team as it's obvious to everyone else that Penrith did - 4 grand finals and 3 premierships

Les's so called "Don's" record vs Penrith and Storm - from 2019

                  Penrith - 1 from 8
                  Storm - 0 from 6
Lol … you still want to shitcan the Don?

Took an utterly decimated side into Townsville and still came away with the win

Don’t talk to me about injuries these last 5 years thanks … a pathetic excuse

Bennett clearly is one of the greatest coaches ever. But can we also look at the Dolphins easy draw to date. We seem to play the best teams every week, while the QLD teams seem to just play each other multiple times in the early rounds.

Don’t worry about their draw … they shouldn’t be winning anything … especially with numerous players out presently

Utterly Decimated?? - only 3 players have been missing for multiple weeks

                          Farnworth (missed last 3 games)
                          Tabuai-Fidow (missed last 3 games)
                          Flegler (missed last 4 games)

Kenneath Bromwich missed the last game vs Cowboys- Concussion protocols

Won 2 and Lost 2 of their past 4 games

                          Soft draw as they say

                          Cowboys - Loss
                          Dragons - Win
                          Bye
                          Titans - Win
                          Wests Tigers - Win
                          Broncos - Loss
                          Eels - Win
                          Knights - Loss
                          Cowboys -Win

As I said even you could have coached those Bronco Sides to Premierships - they were the most stacked squads since the Dragons 11 premierships in a row days - Chock full of SOO and International players.

Would never be able to assemble such a squad nowadays

Only one Don - Sir Donald George Bradman
