Last year he had 8 try assists, 7 tries in 18 games as a dummy half in QCup as an 18 year old.

This is the type of talent I would hope we are interested in.
The Roosters should stick with developing internally as they have the following dummy halves - only recruit externally if required
    • Tyler Moriarty
    • Benaiah Ioelu
    • Alan Holten

The area that may/will need external signings is the outside backs - centre/wing and a second fullback - Only 19 players from the current top 30 with contracts for 2025 so up to 11 spots to be filled - Roosters only fill 27 or 28 max

2025 - Outside backs with Contracts
    • James Tedesco
    • Fetalaiga Pauga
    • Billy Smith
    • Robert Toia
    • Dominic Young
    • Mark Nawaqanitawase
    Off Contract
    • Daniel Tupou
    • Michael Jennings

    Leaving
    • Joseph Manu
    • Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii

      4. Dom Young - needs to learn how to play centre
      5. Mark N - needs to learn how to play League

      17. Egan - has a brother too
      18. Va'a (could finally come of age? Feels like it's been a decade of waiting!!!)
With respect, 18. Va'a - a knee, shoulder op & ankle op, over the last 2 season's, would slow anyone's progress ... not the first or last footballer, to suffer injury setbacks... still young, still getting up off the canvas to fight his way back... no one is more frustrated than the young fella himself... I'm sure, once back to full fitness, he will repay the faith, patience & support the club has shown him.

2 things are for certain. The NRL is a tough gig & earning a Rooster's FG jumper is as tough, or even more. The difference between a good & great club.

Signing a centre I would agree with but we absolutely do not need anymore wingers.

Both Tait and Murphy will be in the top 30 next year.

I'm yet to see much from our young dummy halves that gives me that much confidence. If the outstanding under 23 Dummy half is available we should snap him up and that is Mozer.

Whatever the amount to spend I just hope the club doesn’t shop at K Mart as evident of the past 5years fossicking in the bargain basement - Smith an exception.
Robbo loves a name and a winner so you would like to think the club buy quality not quantity.

            Uncle,
As long as he stays mentally strong, resilient and understands this is part and parcel of climbing the steep NRL mountain.
The summit is within reach for them, God willing

There are no top line players available for 2025 thats why I thought the Chooks should have bought Luai & Lomax.
The guy I work with who follows the Dragons said on their equivalent to the Chookpen that Ben Hunt is going to sign with the Chooks for next year.
If Toia doesnt instantly become a top liner & Billy Smith gets injured we are in trouble. The bloke from Rugby who plays on the wing is untested in the NRL & Toups is no certainty of going around next year.
If we go with Walker & Sandon & 1 or both get injured we're farked.
Who pays FB if Teddy gets injured next year?

                  Brad Burke comes to mind..

Came to the Roosters from RU back in the day and regressed very quickly..

Ethan King for fullback although they moved him to centre this year - been out for a bit - concussion and then an injury at training has limited his appearances so far this season.

Hugo Savala hopefully will get a top 30 spot in 2025 - can play both half and 5/8 and Ethan King as well as he did go to Las Vegas with the Roosters Squad- Both are highly thought off by the coaching staff.

Both came through the junior reps the same time as Sandon Smith , Siua Wong and Tyler Moriarty.

Lewis Murphy is another - still finding his feet in Australia but well worth re-signing as currently on a 1 year development contract for 2024.

I can see a few players being promoted internally rather than going all out to sign players externally to fill the up to 30 player NRL squad for 2025 and beyond.

19 players with NRL contracts for 2025 so up to 11 spots to fill although the Roosters only sign 27 or 28 max and rely on development contracted players and extended bench players to fill in when and if required.

Hopefully the young guys you mention come up to the mark but if King & Savala are in our spine next year Im worried.
You dont win comps with rookies in the spine

Staggs worries me ..great player in the season proper but seems to be average in the real big games.

The realisation is that we'll be entering a rebuilding phase from 2025.
Nurturing emerging players into NRL standard, ushering any new signings and then building combinations will take time and effort.

David Fifita is in Sydney meeting with coach Cleary about his future, wonder if uncle nick will sneak in a quick lunch too?

Can replace Nat. Crichton and Fifita on either edge would be the greatest second row combination of all time.

Yep met with Penrith & has until this round to take up his option at the Tits. He’s initiated it apparently & Penrith want to know his motivation. JFH coin would be used.
