I should have stuck to my original tip of a 30 point thrashing.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

From the ABC report of the match:

Just 8,155 fans were in attendance to watch the Panthers beat the last-placed Rabbitohs 42-12.

That crowd figure is less than 10 per cent of Stadium Australia's official capacity of 83,500.

Yeo said the noise in the stadium felt like there were even fewer fans in attendance, putting the three-time defending premiers off their game.

      "It's definitely different," Yeo said.

"We probably didn't realise until we got out there for a warm-up.

"They said there was 8,000 there tonight but there was probably half that.

The departure of Reynolds began the decline of Souffs and the resurgence of the Bronx.

People may forget the Roosters home attendances from late 80's and into the early mid 90's

We were at a Roosters vs Gold Coast Match where there was lucky to be 1000 people in attendance - They posted a crowd of 3700 odd - They must have counted arm and legs and people driving past the ground in cars, vans and passengers on buses.

I recall Penrith taking pictures of the Roosters home crowds and counting them too- I think that was during the period of reducing the number of teams in the merged ARL/Super League comps(20 teams) - home crowd attendance figures I think was one of the criteria

Well if Skeletor signs on as head coach it solves one of their biggest problems. Who will play fullback?

obviously Darius Boyd will follow is daddy Bennett and come out of retirement and play fullback. Fait a compli

                    • Reading that Souffs star half back signing from the UK has been dropped to reserve grade in Super League. Another astute piece of business by Crowe and his mates.

TBH he'd probably still go harder than Latrell at FB :P

Bennett will get the most out of him, still a good signing.
If that doesn't work out I'm sure they have also signed Humphreys from Manly who I don't know much about he him seem to go alright yesterday.

Interesting that you still consider him a good signing. I have seen on social media where his clubs fans have offered to chip into cover his airfare out here, providing he doesn't get a return ticket.

Middle of winter, freezing cold night, at Homebush, ...cost of adult ticket at Allianz ...Chooks v St George was $90.
                              Maybe the same at Homebush.

The carpark is horrible to exit post game.
Your team is on a hiding to nothing.
Unless I had a season ticket, I probably wouldn't have gone either.
Not much fun watching for 80 mins your team get thrashed.
Even with a season ticket I might've stayed away from that game.
Core of diehard fans, 4,000 to 8,000 sounds about right for most clubs.
One train of thought is..."there's no better way to send a message to the boardroom than an empty stadium".
