State Of Origin is a bore and waste of time, & I'm hoping no Roosters are selected

The original concept no longer exists. 47% of the games players are Pacifica Islanders etc so it can’t possibly be the best of the best.
Ch9 commentary I always mute, they now seem desperate for advertising dollars bringing back dinosaur Ray Warren to be on the commentary team.
Furthermore the concept is all about Queensland and their dollar.
Queenslanders are Queenslanders first and then Australian, as evident of the Horn vs Manny world boxing rort sponsored by QLD Tourism. Not once was Horn referred to as an Australian. Ch9 that owns the series have a similar approach due to the QLD $.
Last nights win wasn’t suppose to happen, as it’s now the lead up to QLD Origin, with the Bronco fans doing their dough on
    last nights game.

So many iconic moments from the past. But, no longer.

      - It is now refereed the same as a club game. There is no flexibility.
      - The modern era has knocked all the characters out of the game.
      - the rivalry just ain't that fierce anymore, and there is no passion like in the past
      - Commentary pre-game and during the game is stacked around "Queenzlandaar" nonsense and nauseating cliches
      - plenty of the best players these days are Kiwi's and thus will never get a game. It isn't necessarily 'the best of the best' as it once was.
      - shithouse philosophies like "club combinations" or "he's got Origin experience" as well as coach/selector biases ensure that individual form & talent doesn't always guarantee selection
      - Gould's 'last word' is no longer

I'd much rather none of our players get picked, so they can avoid injury, stay fresher. We would get an advantage over other teams in this regard.

Sick of Origin. It's been incrementally ruined over the past 10 years.
Nothing to do with NSW losing every year?

I’d prefer our players didn’t get taxed either … but blokes who play Origin always go up a level … the more the better come the end of the year

I hate SOO. Nothing but a distraction to the season and many clubs are disadvantaged. Quite simply, nothing but a money spinner for the NRL and people like Phil Gould crap on like it's going to be WW3 and you want to see these players in the trenches. FFS - give me a break.

And why is the whistle put away in SOO as opposed to a regular home and away game or for a final for that matter? Surely there are rules in Rugby League regardless of whether it be a test match, Origin, home or away or underage. If there's a penalty there is a penalty and so on. You can't amend the rules because of the status of which level the game it is.

"Do you expect me to talk"? "No, Mr. Bond, I expect you to die".

WWIII … Gus loves Origin … and with good reason … highest standard of rugby league you will ever see … how about NSW man up instead of getting owned like pussies every year? WWI diggers would love that if any were still around

To say SOO is boring you obviously aren’t a true supporter of rugby league. Not that there is anything wrong with that, as long as you support The Roosters.

WW1 diggers would prefer the Anzac Day game over SOO every day of the year.

That may be true … but Origin is made for diggers … NSW needs to man up … because the other side does every single year

Does NSW have a stacked squad?

Well the bookies would suggest so … every year … as do you … always banging on about how transcendental these Penrith boys are … they get found out every year

I love what SOO once was. I still watch it. I'm still happy for our boys when they get selected, but I find myself hoping that they don't get injured rather than have a blinder. As is the case with regular club games, the PVL rules are making it that much less appealing.

It's not going anywhere, thanks to the amount of $$$$ channel 9 give the NRL to ensure it happens.

I chatted with Madge not the US President or Taylor Swift. Is it really that unbelievable? Our sons are in the same cricket competition and I was at the awards night at Easts Leagues when I met Madge. Not that it’s any of your business.

Easts Leagues actually. Your jealousy is astoundingly boring.

SOO would be far more palatable if the entire CH9 commentary crew was sacked.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.
