Yes this could very well be the deciding factor, Holbrook which makes me think we will get him, on top of that location Eastern Suburbs or Penrith beach, if the rumours about his girlfriend are true, pretty sure we know what location she will pick.

Finally some vindication for whoever has been backing this rumour on here for the past 5 years.

As long as we can sign his mother to the front row stocks, I'll happily take him. She would terrify Mal Reilly.

He’s less injury prone than what I thought.
David Fifita was one of the Dally M second rowers of the year in 2023 although 2021 was far and away his best season to date.

That's where the conjecture is about him is not being able to reproduce that form week in week out since although the Gold Coast Titans haven't been very competitive since 2021.

We may find out by Thursday what his intentions are although Mitchell Moses had a similar deadline for his player option and those negotiations dragged on for weeks/months I recall.

Not sure why clubs allow such clauses i.e the player can leave if a coach is terminated / Player can leave if the side doesn't make the 8 or the player doesn't play at least 2 SOO games which is in the contract of Wests Tigers front rower Stefano Utoikamanu etc etc

He may also think his best chance of a premiership is at Penrith as the make up of Roosters squad past 2024 is unknown in terms of it's competitiveness.

If you can believe the reports he has 4 options

            Gold Coast
            Penrith
            Sydney Roosters
            St George - Illawarra

I would say a 5th option in South Sydney will arise if Les's dream coach Wayne's World accepts the Souths Head Coach Role.

So he may not make any decision by this Thursday's Deadline.

If we sign Fafita, the likelihood is we will have an extra departing second rower. The competition between Egan, Nat, Gus, Sitili, Wong and then Fafita for 2 spots Plus 1 bench will surely have player(s) leaving for greener pastures.Hope it doesn't impact players motivation atm

The guy is just 24, so another 10yrs in A Grade represents a great investment long term.

He is of Tongan background, so he will settle in well with Toops, Wong, Jennings....

                I'm in.

If it means letting go Sit still or Egan, etc. thats ok.

There are always benefits to making this kind of play even if we don't get him. Push up Fifita's asking price for other clubs. Force Angus into making an earlier decision on whether to leave or stay.

I will personally fly Egan to the Super League if it meant getting Fifita.

25 year old, game changer, 80 minute middle forward. When he's motivated, he's deadly.

This is no Dave Taylor clone.

not a huge fan of fafita. seems a bit inconsistent. plays well when winning but goes missing when behind. i dont think he is a good fit for us. more interested in centres and wingers at the moment.

                            Lindsay Collins
                            Brandon Smith
                            Terrell May
                            Angus Crichton
                            David Fifita
                            Victor Radley

                            Reserves
                            Connor Watson
                            Spencer Leniu
                            Naufahu Whyte
                            Siua Wong

That's a pack that could create havoc, allow Sam Walker and Sandon Smith to work their magic and deliver us a couple of premierships.

It would also cause agenda driven, anti-rooster neanderthals like Tallis to completely lose their minds.

I like how last night he was saying that he couldn't understand how a 'million dollar a year' player would sign for less (aimed directly at the Roosters) disregarding the fact that both Penrith and the Dragons also offered him a lot less than a million a year. He backed his argument with the fact that previously the Broncos, Bulldogs and a couple of other clubs had made offers of over a million to him....what he neglected to comprehend was that these offers were made when Fifita was playing for the Broncos at which time he was one of the most destructive and in demand players in the game. Since signing with the Titans he has had to deal with numerous injuries, inconsistent form etc. and is currently not worth more than $850k.

With these agenda driven Muppets it's okay for players like Jack Wighton to knock back $4.4 million to stay at the Raiders to sign for massive unders with the Vermin so he can win a premiership () playing with his cousin and is great business acumen by the Rabbits. Yet if the Roosters sign a player for unders because they want to play at a strong club, with great culture, premiership winning potential and a great coach in Robbo then we must be rorting the salary cap and doing dodgy deals. Seriously give me a break

No offence, but have you seen most of our players since 2019? He’ll fit right in.

That would give the Chooks the best pack & rotation in the league, without exception. Well said about the agenda driven muppets, unfortunately the average punter believes everything they say as gospel.
