In an interview with Michael Jennings, Jennings mentioned that Toia was a similar built to himself.

Whoever mentioned that he’s uncommonly strong is pretty much bang on. According to the players he and Crichton are the clear standouts in the gym and from what I’ve seen of Toia it translates very well onto the field.

No doubt he won’t be as physically dominant in NRL compared to Cup. He’ll be coming up against smarter defenders who hold to their defensive principles better and have tools to counteract his weapons but so long as he can turn the corner injury-wise he will be a very good player for us for a long time.
Thanks Yak, good to see you. Are you still working for tonights enemy mate?

I don’t think we’d rush him. He’s young, inexperienced and most importantly has just returned from an acl injury I believe.

Actually in his style and physicality you know who he reminds me of a bit? A young Meninga.

His ability to fend, step and accelerate is phenomenal.
Powerfully built too, much like, dare i say - Tau Tau Moga.
Fingers crossed he gets a lucky break with injuries.

Cause the people who coach him don’t consider him to be ready.

Was thinking exactly this when watching some highlights of Toia this morning.

I remember first seeing Moga & thinking this guys is the goods, I couldnt have been more wrong.
Hopefully Toia is a much better player than him & hopefully he has a lot better career at the Chooks.

Moga did have the ACL injuries though - One persons bad luck is another persons luck/fortune.

I did read that the likely backline for the Roosters in 2013 was to be
                                1. Minichiello
                                2. RTS
                                3. Jennings
                                4. SKD
                                5. Moga

All changed the first day of pre-season in November 2012 for the 2023 season when Moga suffered his first ACL

                                Became
                                1. Minichiello
                                2. Toops
                                3. Jennings
                                4. SKD
                                5. RTS
