    Yep.

The beauty of good attacking edge backrowers!

I'm salivating at the thought of Fifita and Angus next year!

Indeed...... And if Manu comes back after his RU stint the right side becomes scary good. Manu's combo with Young is blossoming. They're a joy to watch!

        Today’s DT article from Buzz:

“Despite interest from South Sydney, expect Angus Crichton to stay at the Sydney Roosters. He loves the place and would most likely stay for slightly less money”

Makes a whole lot of sense, and whilst it’s a money driven business, I always was hoping he’d pay the club back eventually after how we stuck by him the past 18 months.

Him and Fifita on either edge will be so good it’ll almost be illegal.

I hope he re-sign. the club did what they need to do future proofing incase if Angus flip and sign with another code/club. I'm excited we're now locked in a barnstorming backrower in the next 4 years.

Slightly poor from Gus to say this in public. Keep it in-house , that’s the Roosters way

I agree it should be kept in-house, but it’s also quite poor form by Roosters management to not even have a conversation with Angus regarding the DF signing.

It sounds a little like they’ve made their minds up on the direction with Fifita on one edge and Sitili, Nat Butcher and Wong to fight it out on the other edge. If Wong achieves what appears to be his full potential, maybe it’s a smart move by the club, as he could be the best of the bunch. If Gus stays, do we lose Wong?

Interesting article on Gus in the DT today ... if true, why oh why would he want to make these comments public rather than keep his thoughts/negotiations in-house??

Off-contract Sydney Roosters backrower Angus Crichton has sent a clear message to coach Trent Robinson, declaring he won’t play second fiddle to David Fifita.

The Roosters landed a signing coup last week when Fifita inked a four-year deal worth around $3.3 million from season 2025.

Crichton, like Titans powerhouse Fifita, plays on the left edge and wants to keep that position.

“I don’t want to be sitting behind anyone,” Crichton told reporters.

“If there’s an opportunity that makes sense (elsewhere), then I’ll definitely look at it.

“I’m not going to rush it, especially with the Fifita stuff that’s come out now.

“That’s a good enough reason for me to take my time, and make smart decisions.”

The in-form backrower, who is in line for NSW Blues selection, revealed the club’s move to recruit Fifita left him feeling confused about his future with the Tricolours.

The Roosters had indicated a desire to keep Crichton but the addition of Fifita could complicate contract negotiations.

As well as Fifita, Robinson also has an abundance of backrower on his roster for next season, including Egan Butcher, Siua Wong, Nat Butcher and Sitili Tupouniua.

Crichton’s management has been in discussions with the club and met last week, but the 28-year old insists he is yet to hear personally from Robinson.

“I probably won’t go looking for him (Robinson), but if he wants to talk to me he knows where to find me,” Crichton said.

“It does make you question where their head’s at.

“No one’s talked to me, which is funny.

“Last I heard they were keen (to re-sign me), but then obviously that (Fifita news) came out. It’s an interesting one and something I’ll have to monitor.

“All I can do is play good footy and keep putting my hand up to be there on the left.

“No one’s talked to me, and I’m not sure if they will.”

It’s understood South Sydney have expressed interest in bringing Crichton back to the Rabbitohs, where he made his NRL debut in 2016.

Crichton is mulling a move to French rugby union, where he has been in talks with Montpellier but the club is facing relegation and sitting second last place on the ladder.

Angus has got to be careful. We all know the roosters don’t negotiate in public and tough talk could backfire on him (if he does want to stay).

I would be gutted to lose Angus but if thinks there’s better opportunities out there he should go…..as long as it’s not souths

It's in the teams best interest that this was sorted ASAP especially when it becomes public.

He goes missing for three years and suddenly thinks he has the upper hand because he has hit a purple patch. Pretty poor form by Angus tbh to say those things in the media.

If you pulled your finger out and played like the $800k you're on Gus, you wouldn't have been in this predicament.

Honestly, after that article I don't give a toss if he leaves. He will likely pull our pants down next season after signing and go back to his below-standard form.

Angus is in the box seat he will be picked for the blues on form he’s the best back rower in the comp big bucks coming from other clubs to sign him he’s gone imo sounds as if there’s a bit of tension between him and Robinson if that story is correct not ideal to have stuff like that in the media

Very very odd comments, looks like he’s talking himself up like Latrell, we know how that ended.

Pretty poor. Does he forget the club stood by him for 18 months during his off field problems? Offered all the help possible? Gave him the time and space?

Could have easily cut the contract up and said get on your way, particularly when he came back playing poorly again. Has put in 4 elite performances in a row. Other than that, missing since mid 2022. Of course it would be ideal to have him and Fifita firing in 25. But airing in club stuff like this + the equal chance for him to revert back to his usual overpaid, overhyped form - he can go seek greener pastures.

Not sure why everyone is all of a sudden so upset with the possibility of him leaving, only a few months ago he wanted to go to Union. Fifita is by miles the superior, more game breaking second rower and I look forward to him joining alongside Gus or not.
