    • gus has to re-sign at a reasonable salary. you can't come out and criticise the club for signing someone who could be seen as a competitor for gus's spot (even though there are 2 second rowers in every team) and then leave when it turns out that that 'competitor' isn't coming and that one of the reasons for him not coming could well have been gus's comments

You're in lala land - Angus doesn't have to do shit - this whole Fifta thing is a complete cluster **** that has ultimately lead to us disenfranchising most of our back row stocks. It's an outrage but no one in the media is writing about the negative impacts it causes us - just how wonderful it is the Titans kept their man. **** him can't wait till we play them.

Like the whole team was disenfranchised in 2018 when everyone's best mate Pearce was pearced off.
They are professionals and they know it's a business.

If Gussy doesn't want to be here he is free to go. I doubt he will drop off in form if he decides to leave. If he stays then you know he loves the club like he constantly says he does. Reed did say yesterday that we had spoken to his management about a contract who had not relayed the message because he had a game on. Gussy then went on his ramp before they had a chance to talk to him. Hopefully it was just miscommunication and all is well.

If Sitili knows he is back in the pecking order then he either fights his way back like Gussy did or look elsewhere where he will be one of the top backrowers and get better opportunities.

I doubt any of our other backrow stock are disenfranchised.

no doubt gus was upset but he should have taken his concern to his manager or to robbo before he took it to the press. all the talk in recent times has been that we want to keep him. one of his points was that fifita was bought to play on the left side but maybe that wasn't the case. why not check first? and even if it was, i don't think it's something to spit the dummy over.
but what's done is done. like i said, hope he stays

IMO it's just as likely that the club released the Fifita signing to Chammis (so that he couldn't secretly backflip - you're in or you're out) and then 'leaked' a story about Gus being unhappy to make it clear that we could lose a form player if Fifita farks us around.

I reckon it was all staged to pressure Fifita into making a decision. In or out. It's okay if you're not in... just TELL US... don''t um and aar about it.

Politis is a salesman and a crafty wog who knows how to tease out people's true intentions. It's like selling a Ferrari. You're either here to buy one or you're not... if you're gonna test drive it then there's ONE test drive and you've gotta decide ASAP. If you're having 2nd thoughts about the price or the brand then GOOD... go get yourself a Fiat. There will always be other people to do business with.

haha, but i don't think the knowledge that your arrival at a new club is causing disruption is a selling point. and it's not so much that the club leaked a story of gus being unhappy as him coming out and saying he was unhappy,

on a different point it seems to me more likely that fifita's management said something closer to the 'deal is off' rather than 'fifita has doubts'. if he had doubts you'd figure nick would have made an effort to dispel them. can't blame nick for putting a better spin on things.

i would have liked fifita to come but it's not happening and no point crying over spilt milk. we've still got a team that can win the comp this year

Nothing like when Pearce was disenfranchised because then Cronk actually came to our team.

                      • Manage Angus right and he delivers. Everyone is different and he's been through a rough patch but he is definitely worth persisting with. Probably the best back rower in the comp right now.
fck fafita I'm glad he back flipped.

who wants to play beside an impact forward who hates doing any heavy lifting? Not a Rooster way type player .
                        we dodged a bullet!

A Top 1 Rugby nation team plays 12 games per season. 3 in June, 6 in TRC and 3 in November in Europe. So he played 25% of the ABs games in his first year in Union. Not too bad. The average Super Rugby player plays for years and wait all his life to wear the black jersey at least one time

As much talent as Angus has, he has only delivered in the final year of his contracts.

No one is asking him to resign below his value but it's fair to expect that he has some loyalty to the club after all the club has endured with him.

The cherry on top is his management telling the chooks he's going to union than getting up in arms when we sign someone in his position.

Answer to this is offer a 1 year extension! 2 max of required then he is made to work for it again
it would be silly for another club to give him a long contract after what he has done with us

They played 14 in 2022 and rts played 2 that year and 1 the year after
still a great achievement to get a jersey though
more saying with rts being one of the best on the nrl shows you it’s not a walk in the part to get a all blacks jersey
issue for rts he couldn’t find his best positon, no kicking game to play fullback. So many wingers and with more pace then him so they stick him at 12 which he could only take a hit up and not much room to move
