What a crap start to the day. Looks like we avoided a potential bad signing here. But I am now really, really concerned about how Angus and Sitili are feeling given the circumstances. This may derail our season and cause a lot of angst. On a side note Tallis is going to be unbearable.

Gus is crucial. I don’t think Sitli is that important, especially with a supposed price of $650k and below average form.

        Agree...this looks really bad.

Can't blame the club though...they thought they had him in the bag & then he renegs & leaves us looking bad.

Angus & Sitili will feel like sloppy seconds now.

Tallis will be out of action for a couple of weeks with a groin injury.

What a sh&t show this has turned out to be. Fifita gone, Gus destabilised and Stili told he can go.

But he can go and get stuffed.

Bring in Luke Garner and sign Josh Schuster to a train and trail deal.

Mate, can you really blame Angus ? - They went out (at the time) and went after a player and looked at him as a replacement option and on slightly more money. Also, it sounds like Robbo/The Club Recruitment and Retention Team were in discussions with Angus's manager/management but they decided to hold off direct talks with Angus till after magic round (this weekend). I think NRL 360 mentioned this last night, which sounds absolutely dumb and I don't know how there is a disconnect between the club + coach + player (his management) especially with the Roosters being a smart and savvy club when it comes to this sort of business.

To be honest - I think there's a bit of drama and spice shown by Angus ... I think it's just a bit of an act to stir up the media and fans.

I'm not fussed with this news nor letting Sitili go as well. Sign Angus for a sensible figure and put all the money on retaining Walker and some new QUALITY backs.

I wonder if this was really about money. Maybe he’s made a last ditch attempt to get a better deal before the cooling off period expired and Uncle Nick said nah see ya pal.

Still don’t think it’s worth keeping sitili on that money for that long
$650k is way to much for a res grader / depth

All this talk of Sitili on $650k….just because someone in the media said that doesn’t make it true.

I reckon Angus is worth $800k plus on the open market. His best footy may still be ahead of him now that he has his mental health issues sorted. We must retain him!

Silly money tbf Bates mun. He could well pull our pants down by downing tools again in the next few years. Surely Nick is smarter than that.
