  • Gees, I'm loving the signs....

While we haven't much to show for the last month, we have taken Saints, the Warriors and Manly to the wire at their home grounds.

This team is young and learning and these experiences will serve us well in the next couple of years.

Lotsa reasons to be cheerful (if we can just show a little patience).

.....now if we can just get rid of Captain Courageous.

    GO EASTS!!!

Yeah I agree mate. Pity we couldn't turn a couple of those games into points and now will probably struggle to make the 8, but yes the signs are very positive for the future. You gotta love the aggression of our pack. They've taken it up to sides like the warriorrs and manly and that is not something to be underestimated.

Totally agree, the signs are very encouraging. Been hugely impressed with Cordner, Taka and Arona in recent weeks.

However saying we took Saints to the wire in their 'home ground' may be pushing it.

You reminded me of what the the commentator said before the game, "Roosters are a team on the up who have only won 1 out of their last 5 games".

Something doesn't sound quite right about that statement but I agree we are improving in certain places. Our backline still needs a lot of improvement.

Not much to get excited about.. The Dragons are a poor side and will miss the 8, the Warriors very inconsistent and Manly without many key players (we did miss Pearce). We are still a very average football team and avoiding the bottom 4 will be the goal.

For some perspective, the Sharks were worse than us last year and look at what they have achived compared to us so far this season... Let's not celebrate mediocrity.

Oh by the way I agree, once Bwaiff finally f*cks off and we get some more experience all will be well in Rooster land.

I very much doubt ANY other coach would have been able to change the team as dramatically as Smith has from the end of 09. We were going nowhere fast, but now I look at the team and have confidence in our ability to fight for the premiership in the near future. He's changed the culture, introduced a successful youth policy, rounded up all the egos and cap-stealers and told them to **** off and you still think he's useless?

I don't always agree with his match day selections, but the way he's rebuilt this team has been nothing short of outstanding. Deserves more credit that he is currently afforded by Roosters supporters and the general public alike.

I thought we played well. The key was the few minutes before and after halftime, letting in those tries really stuffed us. We had enough posession in the first stanza to build a healthy lead but didn't. Frustrating but not the end of the world.

                              Well said.

The journey from the outhouse to the penthouse takes a little time and patience.
