I don't expect rugby players to br choir boys...but if they took it easy at home (or hotel) the night before a match it might show in their on field performance. And we wouldn't be having this lovely discussion.

Robbo would totally destroy trust within the team if a bunch of his players told him they didn't do anything wrong and then he turned around and ordered for them to be drug tested.

Players from all clubs are tested regularly. It's protocol!

Not surprising really. If it didn't happen it would be more strange. Surely they weren't dumb enough to do a) take drugs b) go on a live stream during or afterwards.. anyway time will tell

What if the players agreed to the plan to stop the innuendo?

Gee Rooster36 I didn't know you were such a concerned forum member. I have never seen you flag a post for racism, sexism or homophobia. Maybe next time you read an offensive post you could let me know. Thanks.

Well said Bec...nothing to hide, nothing to fear. Good on the NRL on this one.

You would hope the NRL are acting on more intel than a Twitter rumour but if they’re not then they owe the players an apology for giving this story more legs and validity with no evidence.

The players putting their hands up and suggesting they get tested to clear their names would be completely different from them telling Robbo they did nothing wrong and him turning around and ordering the testing, any prompting from the club suggesting they get tested runs the risk of losing trust within the group.

According to the SMH, an independent contracted laboratory decided to do these tests based solely on the social media allegations. The players association are outraged and threatening to “blow up” the agreement for such testing arrangements.

This opens the door to all sorts of fan instigated mischief.

Just BELT the Raiders this Saturday. " We " have a COMP to win. And I want to shut up anyone/everyone taking pot shots at our club.

                        GO ROOSTERS.

I expect nothing to come out of this.
From what I understand even if they took nose beers it is apparently undetectable after 72 hours with the testing used.
I suspect 99% of players from any team aren't stupid enough to take anything during the season, on the end of season trip far away may be a different story but who knows or cares.

Exactly. It’s appalling that the NRL would respond to a BS social media rumour. Demonstrates a complete lack of trust in players and the club. All based on moral outrage on social media about nothing.

Very similar to the way the club was treated with the Pearce incident

Red, Ive never read a positive contribution from it, but rather abrasive and obnoxious posts. It has issues with Admin and often takes aim at me also LOL.

Surely this is just the NRL stepping in to put this to bed once and for all. The whole thing is a joke and only a distraction. We have a big game on the weekend and need the players focused on this.
