For the whole pre season
then young and and b smith got injured for round 1 so suaali came back in
when billy came back after missing a few rounds he came back in res grade to get game time
same thing will happen again when he comes back

But he also put 4-5 consecutive stinkers down last year, much worse than Jo has ever put up. The other reality is that he started the season injured, didn’t start when he returned as ur claiming he would, and then got injured again. Suaalii I believe is a top 5 winger in the game, is centre his position, probably not, but he’s put a few good games under his belt, brings an X factor that Billy doesn’t, and can stay on the field. If roosters are contending when Billy comes back, I don’t see a path unless injury strikes this year. If ur right I’m more than happy to bite the bullet
Big call saying Suualii is a top 5 winger in the game when he’s only the third best winger at his club! Plenty of better wingers out there that have more impact on a game.Last edited by Steggles; 05-24-2024, 09:20 PM.

Billy smith came back after a reco and was one of the chooks best consistently - something Suaali could not do! Suaali has had stinkers for two years straight getting found out in defence and offering completely nothing in attack! Suaali is also on $750k a year (same as Manu) he has scored 1 try this year and made 4 line breaks! We have scored 170 points in 4 games - he can’t create a line break or tackle break, very rarely passes the ball- the only thing he does in run a straight line direct into contact! No suaali brings no X factor at all! With his that’s this year please let me know what X factor you are taking about
and yes Billy was the left centre before injury, came back in res grade and got injured again! When he comes back he will come back though reserve grade but it won’t take him long to get his centre spot back
and much worse games then Suaali? The only player worse then Suaali was Momo

Billy smith
so many thought Watson was bad last year when he wasn’t playing - now the best in the side
I honestly don’t think I would have ever rated suaali in our best 3 players in any game - doing a 3-2-1 feature he would never be there
but apparently one half decent game where he doesn’t stuff up and all of a sudden he is one of the best players on the comp
in 11 games this year he has 1 try! Amazing X factor

Suaalii has 6 try assists, almost 140 run metres a game and a tackle efficiency of 88.5. X factor wise u just need to watch his aerial leaps or even the flick pass to Dom in the weekend. Can he be prone to a bad game, absolutely. Does he sometimes look lost defensively at centre, yep. But ultimately if we have a game against Penrith tomorrow in the grand final, I’d prefer Jo.
Maybe Billy comes back and absolutely kills it, forcing his way into the 17, I tell you what they’d have to be some absolute blinders, and if he does, who’s to say that Suaalii won’t supplant Dom or Toops on the wing?

while Manu had 8
and young has scored 8 in 8 games
young has 15 line breaks and 42 tackle breaks
compared to suaali 6 line breaks in 11 games
and young averages more mtrs 160
that flick pass was the first I have seen him pass the ball or do anything exciting
why was billly smith at centre all pre season? As he was better then Suaali
how many tries has suaali let in but racing off his wing or getting caught flat footed and players going around him which these tackles don’t show? Getting burnt by Moses Suli was embarrassing
don’t be silly as if toops and young will be dropped
for $750k do you think we are getting the output from him?

By seasons end every Roosters supporter will be grieving the loss of Suaalii. He going from strength to strength and last weeks effort in defence was another glimpse into where he's heading.
right centre could be his spot he looked comfortable there in defence.
what a shame hel be leaving just when he's finding his feet....
