By seasons end every Roosters supporter will be grieving the loss of Suaalii. He going from strength to strength and last weeks effort in defence was another glimpse into where he's heading.
right centre could be his spot he looked comfortable there in defence.

Listening to Mal Meninga who's RL opinion I respect. My take is that Teddy would be 1st picked in his Kangaroo team. I find it hard to believe that Teddy won't be the NSW fullback.

I hope he reneges. We certainly have the money for it. And why would anyone want to play super rugby FFS. I suspect the Lions tour next year will be a big carrot for him to go though.

By going to Rugby, he is about to be the highest paid player ever from any football code in Australia. The only way he can stay is for Rugby to come to the Roosters, say it made a terrible mistake, and offer to pay $900K a year for three years to subsidise a new contract with us. That ain't going to happen.

It might mean that Luai and Burton will be the halves and Koroisau at dummy half; although Burton and Koroisai are not playing for Penrith nowadays, they would still have a good understanding of how each other plays from their Penrith days. Yeo at Lock.

Not the game to wait for a player either Hynes and or Cody Walker to be right to play as you need players fit and training from the get go.

Yes it'll be interesting seeing what happens there ay? Noting, Mal's a successful rep footy coach.

IMO there are cultural issues within NSW for a drought breaking captain of his calibre to be sacked like that. I rate Edwards' performance and love having Teddy available for Easts but IMO QLD wouldn't do that. It's as if we are always losing and calling in new spin doctors to 'select based on form'. Get the argument but it ALWAYS ends up with stupid shyte like McInnes at 13, Yeo on the bench and Jake Trbo starting as captain. If you're gonna select purely based on form then at least be consistent about it.

I predict that Teddy will double down on his club efforts, win a premiership and captain Australia. NSW will then be in a position where so long as 'Madge' is coach, he's gonna look frigging awkward calling upon Teddy to replace Edwards (and could rightfully be told to go fark himself).

From a cultural perspective I reckon this all coulda been handled soooo much better!

The problem with form is it's not always permanent. I can remember a while back people were calling for Blake Austin to be the NSW 5/8th because he was the 'form 6' in the NRL. The successful teams in Origin don't pick players based on 'flavour of the month', they pick players who have shown they can get the job done over a long period of time. Maguire looks like he's picked a team based around NRL Supercoach stats and I really can't see this team beating Queensland unless its a wet night and it just becomes a slog through the middle

Dylan Edwards has been top shelf for 4+ years now, so it's not like someone has been picked out of the blue or from the NSW Cup to replace James Tedesco at fullback.

A case of it not now, then when do you play him.

It sounds like Connor Watson was a cert until sustaining an injury. Connor is back in round 15 in time to be considered for selection for SOO Game 2. It will depend on how NSW goes in Game 1 if any changes are made.

We will never know what the make-up of the NSW side would have been if say Turbo was available (fullback or centre option) and Bradman Best. Katoni Staggs and Campbell Graham (centre options) were available; all three were out with injuries, and Latrell Mitchell had games under his belt, although he did say he didn't want to play.
