No reward for the niggling whingers today. Footy was the winner. Whitehead is better named Dickhead...should have marched him Toddy.

We are hitting a really nice groove. Only injuries can stop our momentum now I feel. I'm calling it early but...

I think we win the comp this year.
Whitehead is my most hated player.

I loved the part today where the ref let him stop play for a minute to whinge while we were in the middle of 7 or 8 6 agains/penalties in a row

Whats the prognosis on Egan, had watched the game on mute
Have to wait for the scans

          According to the NRL Physio

Egan Butcher off with a right knee injury. Roosters initially indicated hands on testing suggested no ACL injury, but now “can’t rule anything out.” Non-contact/change of direction mechanism never ideal, ACL always first concern. Best case would be meniscus issue/bone bruise.

I'm biased but IMO the refs tried their best to gift the Faders a win and we still belted the shyte outta them. To me THAT is when we're our scariest!!!

I know nothing but that was sorta my informal observation.

He was going for a ball and then went to ground without making any contact with anybody. The physio rubbed his leg and then I saw him hobbling around in back play. A while later he was off with an ice pack on his knee.

                • Victor Radley went on report for a dangerous tackle on 66 minutes.

                Anything to worry about?

I never know but it was one of those tackles where he was an unnecessary 2nd man in, the game was won and he got the guy around the collar.

To me that's the sorta thing you either ignore or award a free kick for. However as soon as anything goes 'on report' I worry that they'll over-scrutinise it (particularly high contact as the NRL's scared of getting a US-style class action against them from a heap of angry, concussed ex-players).

Bit taller than SST, makes it hard for the opposition to tie up the ball. Always seems to have the ball free for an offload which is why I think he’s similar to Tapine. Along with his footwork and power.

                      • Just got back from the game. Awesome win. Awesome atmosphere thanks to the Chookpen making more noise than the raiders fans. Now I need to watch the replay as it’s hard for me to see much from up in the stands.

                            • Then there's this bullshit from Channel 9.

'He barely grazes him': Luke Keary awarded controversial penalty try in triumphant win over Raiders

Canberra was on the receiving-end of a controversial call against the Roosters, with five-eighth Luke Keary awarded a penalty try in the first half on Saturday.

In the opening 20 minutes of the clash at GIO Stadium, Keary pounced on a grubber kick from halves partner Sam Walker, seemingly scoring a simple try next to the posts.

However, replays showed Keary bobble the ball as he was placing it down in the in-goal area, with on-field official Todd Smith sending it upstairs.

While it was determined Keary had failed to ground the ball, the Bunker awarded him a penalty try after Morgan Smithies illegally grabbed him in the lead-up.

Raiders skipper Elliott Whitehead pleaded with Smith on the field, who explained that Keary would have more than likely scored if not for the interference.

"He was still first to the ball … he was the only one near the ball," Greg Alexander said during the Fox League broadcast.

"He barely grazes him - I don't think it affects anything that happens after he grabbed him by the arm slightly, because he quickly got himself back on-track."

Alexander also conceded it was 'hard to disagree' with Whitehead's argument.

The crowd in Canberra were also left fuming, with loud boos ringing out through the stadium as the Green Machine were left reeling.

The visitors started in red-hot form in the nation's capital, with Victor Radley crossing for an early try in his new role on the edge before Keary's four-pointer.

Nick Cotric's try in the 15th minute got the Raiders back in the contest, but Joey Manu crossed before the break to extend the lead for the Tricolours.

The second half was dominated by the Roosters, who ran away with a 44-16 victory on the road as the likes of James Tedesco and Angus Crichton starred.

Speaking post-game, head coach Ricky Stuart admitted his side's performance wasn't up to scratch and blasted their defence.

"It was very disappointing," he said.

"They're probably one of the benchmark teams of the comp - if you have a look at the wonderful talent you have in their team, you can't miss 60 tackles - that's on us."

Whitehead echoed the sentiments of his coach.

"They got off to a good start and we couldn't stop their momentum," the captain said.

"I feel sorry for the fans that turned up, we had a big crowd there and it was an embarrassing performance."

                              • The Keary one is a weird one because the slight shoulder grab had nothing to do with Keary dropping the ball but it was a penalty in a try scoring position, don't know how the rulebook inteprets this one - somewhere between professional foul and penalty try I guess and we received penalty try. Let's be honest, the Raiders were going to sook eitherway so who cares.
