So is DLV a prop like his brother? You’d think another forward would come onto the bench as I can’t see us having only two forwards a utility and centre on the bench. Though Trent has been known to only use 16 players before.

Doubt he’ll play but this is a kid straight out of high school. Big raps on him obviously and fits the Bondi Boy mould . Unless there’s an injury to Xavier Vaa, which I am unaware of.
Respectfully, Xavier is not injured. He's chasing match fitness. Unfortunately over the past 2 preseasons, significant injuries have cost him a debut a lot earlier. As they say, timing is everything. He's working hard to get back to what he can do. When he does, I have no doubt he will push a strong claim for FG.

Salle has a had a fairly uninterrupted (touch wood) couple of seasons to mature into a fronty. Both boys understand hard work & don't take anything for granted or get carried away with or caught up in hype. I also have no doubt, both boys, when they mature, physically & mentally, will be a real force. They did it together, briefly at schoolboy level (which is what caught Daniel Anderson's eye) & as they grow into men, if given the opportunity, they will do it together, here.

Not sure what "Bondi Boy mould" means? They aren't blonde & blue-eyed?

All they can control is being the best prepared they can be, to play footy ...it's up to other people, which level... be it Flegg, Cup or maybe even a debut at NRL?!

Bondi Boy is a poster on here who likes to bang on about our players not being big enough. He insists we need "big, strong, fast, muscular players". Take it as a compliment.

I imagine there will be some changes before kick off.

Wong played 80minutes at prop in the NSW Cup last week, assume in preparation for this week.

Radley back to lock, Whyte back to the prop rotation and Tupouniua onto an edge…

Chance that Va’a comes in as well, like others I think Jennings selection is a bit of a placeholder.

                    Plenty of options there..

Wong and sitili can both play prop
expect big minutes from jwh, may and Whyte but like it’s been mentioned expect maybe Whyte or may to start on the bench and Wong or sitili to start
hard to believe Wong and Sitili were the edges at the start of the e year

I'm assuming the Vaa family are religious.

Jean-Baptiste de La Salle was a 17th (and early 18th) century French priest who was canonized in 1900 and proclaimed as patron saint of all teachers of youth in1950.

You've got two guys in Sandon and Nat Butch bustin to play big minutes this weekend which will help our rotation. Plus Nat can easily switch to middle at some point, and go the distance.

Wong is basically the same size as both May & Whyte. He played prop last week in Reggies. He can absolutely handle the middle if required.

The 4th interchange (17th player) is always a difficult one, as do you select a back or a forward? It could be a wasted replacement if they are not used or play only a limited minutes. Teams have gone away from having a specialist second dummy half to having a utility who can play dummy half and at least one other position. Lock, for example.

The Roosters are fortunate that two of their options for 14 can play more than one other position: Sandon Smith, Dummy Half plus Halves, and Fullback Connor Watson. Dummy half plus lock/half and even centre and fullback at a pinch.

So it may not be necessary to have a back on the bench if either Sandon and or Connor are playing , noting that Victor Radley could also jump into the dummy half if required if Sandon and/or Connor have to play in the backs.

Two props on the bench are pretty standard across the board, although a utility prop that can also cover lock and backrow would be beneficial as you would ideally only want one other backrower on the bench: Whyte can cover lock and backrow, and Wong, who the club is seemingly converting to a prop, can as well. Wong is 189 cm and 107 kg.

possible game time of the forwards who one assumes will be in the 17 for this game - They may get more minutes out of JWH/Brandon/May/Whyte?
                                • JWH - 40 to 50 minutes
                                • Brandon Smith - 50 to 60 minutes
                                • May - 50 to 60 minutes
                                • Nat Butcher - 80 minutes
                                • Radley - 80 minutes
                                • Whyte - 50 to 60 minutes
So anything from 90 to 130 minutes to be covered by interchange players - if only 2 forwards and a Utility covering Dummy half at least.
                                • Sandon covering 20 to 30 minutes- Brandon Smith
                                • Wong covering 35 to 50 minutes - JWH/May/Whyte
                                • Sitili covering 35 to 50 minutes - JWH/May/Whyte

Season so far - Game time averages
                                • JWH averages around 40 minutes per game when starting - 1 game from interchange 33 minutes
                                • Whyte averages around 30 minutes per game from interchange - played 36 and 68 minutes in the last 2 games as a starter
                                • May Averages around 40 minutes per game from interchange - 55 and 57 minutes the two times he started
                                • Wong averages 46 per game when starting and 28 minutes from interchange - 6 games in NSW Cup - 5 - 80 minute games and 1 74 minutes
                                • Nat Butcher can play 80 minutes
                                • Victor Radley can play 80 minutes
                                • Sitili averages 60 minutes per game when starting( 1 - 80 minute game) - 2 and 19 minutes this season from the interchange
                                • Brandon Smith averages 50 minutes per game ( 1 - 80 minute game)

So it may learn towards the 4th Interchange (17th player) being another forward playing possibly 10 to 20 minutes - i.e Blake Steep / De La Salle Va'a or Zach Dockar Clay rather than backs Ethan King / Jake Elliot being the 4th Interchange(17th Player) if Michael Jennings isn't the 17th player that is
