We will need two props on the bench. I think Whyte will drop back for this game. Leaving Nat, Wong and Edward Scissor Hands who can all fill the other spot. Va'a can also come in. Like most I doubt Jenko will play so I hope Va'a or Steep are player #1223 this weekend.

I’m more worried about what Sutton and the gee banger have got planned for us than anything the cows might come up with

Teams have gone away from having a specialist second dummy half to having a utility who can play dummy half and at least one other position. Lock, for example.

The Roosters are fortunate that two of their options for 14 can play more than one other position: Sandon Smith, Dummy Half plus Halves, and Fullback Connor Watson. Dummy half plus lock/half and even centre and fullback at a pinch.

So it may not be necessary to have a back on the bench if either Sandon and or Connor are playing , noting that Victor Radley could also jump into the dummy half if required if Sandon and/or Connor have to play in the backs.

Two props on the bench are pretty standard across the board, although a utility prop that can also cover lock and backrow would be beneficial as you would ideally only want one other backrower on the bench: Whyte can cover lock and backrow, and Wong, who the club is seemingly converting to a prop, can as well. Wong is 189 cm and 107 kg.

possible game time of the forwards who one assumes will be in the 17 for this game - They may get more minutes out of JWH/Brandon/May/Whyte?
          • JWH - 40 to 50 minutes
          • Brandon Smith - 50 to 60 minutes
          • May - 50 to 60 minutes
          • Nat Butcher - 80 minutes
          • Radley - 80 minutes
          • Whyte - 50 to 60 minutes
So anything from 90 to 130 minutes to be covered by interchange players - if only 2 forwards and a Utility covering Dummy half at least.
          • Sandon covering 20 to 30 minutes- Brandon Smith
          • Wong covering 35 to 50 minutes - JWH/May/Whyte
          • Sitili covering 35 to 50 minutes - JWH/May/Whyte

Season so far - Game time averages
          • JWH averages around 40 minutes per game when starting - 1 game from interchange 33 minutes
          • Whyte averages around 30 minutes per game from interchange - played 36 and 68 minutes in the last 2 games as a starter
          • May Averages around 40 minutes per game from interchange - 55 and 57 minutes the two times he started
          • Wong averages 46 per game when starting and 28 minutes from interchange - 6 games in NSW Cup - 5 - 80 minute games and 1 74 minutes
          • Nat Butcher can play 80 minutes
          • Victor Radley can play 80 minutes
          • Sitili averages 60 minutes per game when starting( 1 - 80 minute game) - 2 and 19 minutes this season from the interchange
          • Brandon Smith averages 50 minutes per game ( 1 - 80 minute game)

So it may learn towards the 4th Interchange (17th player) being another forward playing possibly 10 to 20 minutes - i.e Blake Steep / De La Salle Va'a or Zach Dockar Clay rather than backs Ethan King / Jake Elliot being the 4th Interchange(17th Player) if Michael Jennings isn't the 17th player that is
Always appreciate the effort you put into your posts!

fingers crossed for Va’a always heard big things about the brothers and looking forward to see it

Pauga’s defence was pretty suspect the other week. Could we see Jennings come straight into centre and Pauga left right out?

is that right? that's what the stats on the roosters website say but i would have thought may and whyte are bulkier. but hard to tell - wong's got a similar muscle/fat ratio as sbw

I don't think it will be De La Salle Va'a debuting this week... keep pushing boys, one day everything will fall into place at the right time.

That's a little disappointing, Uncle. I'm sure both boys will get their opportunity - all in good time.

Brandon Smith could spend some time at lock if Sandon played more minutes at dummy half… not a bad shout.

Feels very quick for De La Salle, was only playing SG Ball a few weeks ago. I’d imagine they’d want to get some more minutes into him at NSW Cup level.

I expect Blake Steep to debut. I can't see us only having 2 forwards on the bench, he's in our top 30, and got more minutes (42) than Va'a (15) in reserve grade on the weekend.

I heard Jenko's been priming himself for the front row.

Pauga got caught out a few times. Fingers crossed Jennings is fit.
