I was told last week that there has been a 2yr deal put on the table by the club that he had his manager are happy with and that whilst it will be difficult to nut out the finer details through an origin campaign that there's confidence the negotiations will be concluded within a matter of weeks not months.

Can you link me to this newspaper article you are talking about? I only remember articles about offers from the Panthers around that time. I don't want to call you a liar but I'm sure you could see the irony if you couldn't...

I'm also not an insider mate, never claimed to be. I don't even know anyone who is an insider, but like all of us I'm a mad Roosters fan and my mates, colleagues and general acquaintances know this about me. Hence from time to time when discussing footy someone will have some sound info on the club that they want to share with me and so long as it's not confidential I'll share it if I trust it.

It’s like this for me. I love the guy. He plays awesome, awesome footy when he puts his mind to it and I’m over the moon with his signing but do have concerns that once signed he’ll fall back into his old ways of only needing to play well to impress for Origin or a future contract. So I’m ecstatic the club has given him yet another chance, but with reservations. Let’s hope he’s more consistent this contract.

I don’t disagree with making him captain at all. Either Angus or Radley as our next captain. I think the captaincy negatively impacts Teddy’s game and we’ve looked a bit directionless at times under his captaincy.
