On the way home I saw headlines in the DT pushing the "Roosters poaching mantra." One of two things is happening. 1. His manager is trying to up the offer by tying him to Easts. 2. The media have NFI and are making crap up to sell their articles.

I was over the other night discussing my comeback over a Grange and a few Dannemanns. He agreed that it's unconventional for middle-aged marathon runners to switch to NRL, but encouraged me to keep trying as it'd be a great story.
We made pizzas, he seduced me with French poetry and Uncle Nick pulled out a brown bag of leftovers as I was leaving, while passing on some sagely advice that 'you'll need these... son'.
10/10 experience. If you're ever invited then I'd definitely take him up on it.
Sounds like he was scared to leave his home town of Newcastle, see ya!
lol
The Roosters are NOT the be all & end all to every player in the NRL.
We go for them & love them but it doesnt mean that all the guys that play NRL feel the same way.
He might of gone for the Knights growing up & wants to play for them.
Funny you mentioned him, was on talkback radio about a month ago, Very very casual guy, living in newy area, doesn’t have any real involvement in league, runs a few gyms and still loves a beer. He said the raiders 30 year catch up in magic round was gonna be messy with his good mate toots. Not sure if he still smokes, but he used to buy cartons of Winnie blues from me when I was working at a service station back in the 90s.
