I just read an article in the roar that said Teddy plays for the chooks regardless of Teddy being called in or not.

      Hope that's true

I think that's why Teddy deserved to be picked though.

Yes that's what any sane person would say but IMO you kick Teddy in the cojones, strip him of his captaincy, dump him from the team, absolutely murder him in the media and he'll still say 'FARKING BRING IT ON... I AM AS READY AS EVER!!!' if you call hom the day before the game saying 'oi so this is kinda awkward but after all this drama I've caused, the guy who replaced you has done a hammie and we NEED you... not as captain... can you just slot in and do the job?'

He's been captain of Australia, NSW and the best club in the comp for multiple seasons because he's wired like that. He doesn't get all emotional. If there's a chance to play rep footy then you could call him up 10 minutes before kick-off, tell him he's in the front row and he'd make it happen.

            > NSW and Penrith fullback reportedly suffering quad tightness at Blues training.

            > Edwards reportedly suffered the injury setback after doing extra fitness work following NSW’s opposed training session on Saturday.

Sounds like Edwards is good to go if true.

Side note (again 'assuming this is true and not some sorta ruse') how farking stupid would it be to smash him with fitness training?

Hate to break it to them but that's like me doing extra fitness sessions ~5 days before a marathon. That's not gonna magically improve my fitness at the last minute. It's more likely to cause unnecessary fatigue/injuries...

If he does pull out tomorrow morning that's a disgrace. The NRL is a professional competition. To have players missing for what is just a side show, is unfair to the clubs and supporters.

At the end of the day first grade rugby league is a business. Clubs invest a lot of time and money to prepare teams to go out and win football games.

State of origin should be played on stand alone weekends. I won't be at the ground tomorrow but if Teddy is out I feel for those that have gone to see him play.

              Easts to win.

Let’s hope Teddy is there with us tomorrow
an annoying disruption for the team

would be funny though if he played origin and killed it - it would make the haters look silly
only issue would be if he played well I think he would keep his spot for game 2! Only way Edwards would get back is on the wing
so rather chooks keep him during origin

I may have that wrong but if not, yet another disruption to the detriment to the Roosters. SOO needs a serious overhaul. Too many teams disadvantaged, overrated game, a dead rubber (possibly) means exactly that - yes it does happen regularly.

$30,000 should mean nothing to someone on a million-dollar salary. You've been great (and still are) Teddy but give yourself a break from this origin crap - you've been there and done that. We will need you at your peak come finals time if we're good enough to be there.

Lots of champion Roosters players leaving at years end so we may be in a rebuilding phase so maybe a last shot at a premiership for a while. Then again, depth is good and one or two astute signings, and I don't see us falling too far away.
Look at Penrith tonight. It’s 2 free points for a rubbish team that would’ve got nowhere near them otherwise.

Can’t see a single reason they can’t play Origin over 3 consecutive weekends. Get squads of 25 to cover injuries for the 3 games. You could play the women’s origin and even a couple of tests between NZ, Fiji, Tonga, Samoa etc.

Players not selected can go to the bush and hold clinics, visit schools for a few days and have some time off.

The NRL gets a 3-4 week break and we charge home with a comp of largely refreshed players where games haven’t had bizarre false results like Penrith tonight.

Yeah or even spread it over 6 weeks. Something needs to change.

Can’t imagine that would be true, there’d be no need to call Tedesco and the Roosters to let him know he’s on standby if so.

Apparently call will be made at 9am tomorrow morning, I imagine if Edwards is ruled out Teddy will be pulled from the game.

Yes there would be at the least to find out if he would want to play.
