The only reason why smith said that we still would have lost even though the mortimer no try was a shit call, is because he didn't want to pay gallop and his snakes 10k gain in fines.

At that moment in the game, that mortimer no try was huge and definitely a "game changing" call.

Most definetely those finokios have cost us 4 points this year and i'll guarentee that will be the difference in us missing the 8 which is exactly what the NRL want.

A better team would have won them, regardless of decisions that went against us...

The Gods are not smiling on us in the last month. This could go either way, depending on whether the boys can hang tough - if they can then the tide will turn and I can see us getting on a roll.

That's true PTB but you have to consider where this team is in its development.

I agree, if we have to rely on the bounce of the ball to go our way every week then we are struggling.

I agree, but now consider how much further these young guys would have already developed if we had of won a couple of those close ones.

Winning, is what will give these young guys the confidence to believe they can beat anyone...

It got us there in 2010.

Although it's sad to admit this most first grade squads on paper, when you take in to account experience , trump us.Apart from SKD and the yet to be proven Moga, there's nothing sensational about our backs. Our forwards are good but most still green. Our halves, our 5/8th....... need I say more. Like many have said one here we need to buy one more decent backline player (matai etc) and probably a SBW in the forwards and we're set for 13'

You're right. We are a class half and a class outside back off being a good side currently. We don't have that game breaker like an Inglis or Slater that might have turned a game like Sunday's.

Are we on the slide......not sure. You certainly can't fault the effort, but we probably need a win to get the confidence flowing. Losing, like winning becomes habit forming after a while and we've done too much losing lately. Still, I enjoy watching these young guys go about their work. They don't worry about reputations or their limitations they just get stuck in and keep going for the 80.
