    He has been punished enough.
    Walsh slips/fades into the contact.
if Walsh doesn’t slip it’s a perfect tackle.

Teddy has copped worse when doing the same sort of slip/fade after passing the ball , usually a sin bin if anything.

All this happens at high speed in a contact sport.
Dont run at the line and fade into contact , you’ll get hurt.

I feel sorry for people who paid for tickets , game was over after 10 minutes.

It's not f*cking fair on the Roosters and our fan base that we gotta lose JS for a few matches even if it's against teams that we should be and realistically only x3 games.

Rep footy issue ... deal with it on that level !
We cant have it both ways
JWH got suspended at the end of last season and international games counted towards his suspension allowing him to come back early for Easts.

The game needs to make a set rule around this.
1: Suspended during a club game and the time is served under NRL club games only.
2: Suspended during a representative game and the time is served under representative games only.
3: Suspended in any game and all games count as it is now (I don't like this current way as it has included trial games which shouldn't be counted as a served game and presuming a player will be picked in a representative game so they can count those games)

My personal belief suspended during a NRL game and only those games count, you're free to play representative games, suspended during a representative game you're free to play club games.

The more I look at it, the less I think it's a send-off, and 4 weeks seems somewhat excessive. His back is nearly parralel to the ground when he hits Walsh. He's driving through the tackle and not upwards, and the left arm is in enough of a wrapping motion. Walsh is either slipping or stepping, and drops about a half foot before contact. Walsh passed the HIA and was hit mostly on the chin.

You have to get those right and the onous is on the tackler to not hit high under any circumstances, but the referees are always reactioanry. If Walsh isn't down for two minutes, Joey is sin-binned and misses a few games. Instead, Klein panics, as he often does, because it looks so spectacular and because Walsh is down for so long.

Definitely feel bad for Joey. 20 years old, being ripped into by most of the rugby league community just because he's earning a lot of money and was touted as a gun. Gets picked in Origin which everyone has a problem with, and then 5 minutes into the game, he gets a tackle wrong (while trying to be physical and put on a shot for his team) and then gets sent. Emotions would be all over the shop for him.

This is pretty damning evidence that NSW were hard done by with Joseph-Aukuso Sua'ali'i being sent off.

Frame 2 clearly show Walsh slipping and falling and how far that was in the 1 second between these 2 frames. If Walsh remained at the same height as frame 1, it would have been the ball and all tackle that Suaalii was attempting. Suaalii had no time to change the type of tackle he was making.

There was no shoulder charge, as some are suggesting on other sites, and it also shows that Suaalii did not launch himself at Walsh either.

We have to wait and see if this will be contested, as clearly it's not reckless or careless—dangerous contact at worst, which would be 1 to 2 games.

Trial games are not counted in reducing game suspensions

Example - So a player is sent off in a rep game and is suspended for say 4 weeks and will only serve this suspension in rep games

            Some problems with that

What happens if a player never plays rep football again and or retires from rep footy - they will never serve that suspension
Who would decide if that player would have been selected to play in a rep team as the player may have been selected to play in a dead rubber game 3 of SOO for an example

Bit unfair on non rep footy playing NRL players who will miss NRL games when suspended but rep footy playing NRL players if only suspended in rep footy won't miss any NRL games under your system.

            Leave it as it is

We have to front the judiciary and get a downgrade.

It was not intentional or reckless.

Dangerous only, but Walsh contributed to the collision as well.

I’ve taken my red, white and blue glasses off. Have a look at the frames immediately AFTER impact, where Jo has both of his feet well and truly off the ground, but his body is leaning forward into the tackle; how does that happen if he didn’t launch himself into the tackle?

The bottom line is that he’s gone in for the super big hit and it’s gone wrong, simple as that. The fact that Walsh was falling in the tackle doesn’t change that fact that he hit him high. High risk tackle; looks great when it comes off but not so much when it doesn’t.

So one of our coconuts takes out an indigenous drongos player. Sounds familar. Thats twice this year. Im guessing we will play them in the G.F this year and we will get, as a team almost 50 games suspension.

doubt we'll contest the charge. yes, there were mitigating circumstances but they don't matter any more and suaalii's height is not a mitigating factor - he knew he was tall before he went into the tackle. if we do challenge it he'll be out for 5 weeks. assuming he pleads guilty he'll be available for origin 3 (can't count bulldogs and origin 2 as 2 games) but won't have played a game before and is unlikely to be picked which means his next game will probably be v storm

I really feel sorry for Joseph. He seems like such a decent young man too. I don’t think the blow up over Taylan May breaking Walsh’s cheekbone without consequence has helped either. Walsh is a media darling and the NRL’s number one ’superstar’. That along with what I said in the other thread about how the NRL views contact with the head these days and it being SOO and a QLD player no less, means bad news for poor Joe. He’s been very classy in his response to all the hoo ha though. The club needs to rally around him and I’m sure it will.

Joey didn't invite Reece to drop /slip at the last second did he ? C'mon it's footy and Origin ! How the hell do you remove all risk in a high speed full body contact sport ?? It was an emotive reaction from an incompetent official that led to to destruction of the whole series 7 minutes in . I won't be watching anymore origin it's a FARCE !

All I’m wanting is for us to get on with our season as intact as possible. Origin is a circus causing injuries and suspensions to clubs and leaving clubs weakened for regular matches. This rubbish should be held at the end of the year after the season is over. Didn’t bother to watch just got a message on my phone that Jo was sent off. What an idiotic game where it’s not 13 vs 13.
