Unconfirmed reports have come out that NRL have released a judiciary report of state of origin Game 1 and have assessed Joseph Suaalii to face a 4-5 match ban for the shot on Reece Walsh.


Charge: Grade two reckless high tackle

4-5 weeks would be completely unfair given that Latrell's shot on Manu 2 years back which looked a lot more vicious, deliberate and lead to a fractured cheek only lead to a 6 game ban.

There has to be some leeway given for a midget slipping into a 6’5 player (whose back is nearly parallel to the ground leaning over already).

Never a sendoff and never more than a 1-2 week suspension.

So of course we get shafted again.

Fark me what a stupid call. He didn't even make contact with his head and he missed all but 7 minutes of the game (which IMO should factor in more strongly given the impact it had on an important outcome).

Joey is made for origin. What a tackle!
Reese Walsh and the rest of Queensland will probably pass a step or 2 earlier when attacking his side in the future.

It's going to be a case of what could have been. I wish he was staying with us that's for sure.
Hes going to develop into a weapon pretty quickly now he has a year of first grade under his belt

I don’t know man, I’ve watched it on nrl.com where you can slow it down, and he has launched himself, turned his head and lead with the shoulder which looks to have hit him flush.

Looks like it’s 4 weeks with an early guilty plea.

so parra, dogs(which he would of missed anyway due to origin) tigers and saints.

so only 3 weeks realistically.

Very unlucky. Nine times out of ten its a copybook tackle. He doesn't launch upwards but straight through Walsh,.with Suaalii's torso at 90 degrees to his legs and parallel to the ground. I know they don't consider mitigating circumstances but if Walsh doesn't slip, its just a hard torso, mid chest tackle..
