  • Official Match Day Thread: Roosters v Eels

We really missed an opportunity to jump up the ladder and sit handsomely coming into the bye last week. We have lost a couple of games this season that you would have circled as most likely wins. Let's face it, our last game was farcical. There was little energy and plenty of complacency. All a result of poor attitude. Let's hope they used the infamous meet season meeting to have a good hard look at themselves.

Today we are fresh and should be looking for redemption. It's now the second half of the season and it's time to start performing consistently. I believe we have the best roster in the comp. Now it's time to play like we do. I'm fed up with these inconsistent performances and attitude issues. Tonight it's time to get the season back on track. It's time to play with pride in the jersey.

    Kick-Off 735pm.

    GO ROOSTERS!

Its time to shine. Missing a few outside but our middle looks super safe. Our right will be soft in attack. No bombs for Dom but thru the hands instead. Will be a ripper of a game

5th would be neat... didn't really see it as an opportunity to climb the ladder as the Dolphins beat the Sharks so top-4 is now gonna be a bit of an ask. Be good getting on top of the Raiders and Doggies for now though.

I've got a friend who's a Dragons fan and keeps sending me rumours about Cheese being shopped around...etc (while saying 'OMG we are on the same points as you guys!!!) Get what he's saying but we put 60 on the Dragons. IMO we need a good month of wins to show we're on another level (and sanitise all these premature ejaculations using some good bleach) but that'll happen.

Eels!!! Bloody hell ay. Sharks just lost so Moses and Gutho are gonna act as if they're the best spine in the comp. Trell seems to have taken this a chance to lift in the hope it'll get him an Origin spot too... feels like this is the big week for all the pretenders who've done NOTHING to deserve Origin selection but are smelling blood like cowards after that loss and reckon one big week will be enough to warrant selection.

Fark me... s*x for us that this week has that vibe about it (and Parra have decided it's time to try and make the finals). It's faaaarkin' game on and a massive danger game IMO (I'm picturing this as being Parra's game of the season before they completely collapse and p!ss off). Be tough having Cheese and Young out too.

At the same time, I don't mind seeing both of 'em sitting on the sidelines as they kinda summarise why the Cows beat us - IMPATIENCE!!! People bag Jenko but IMO he's one of the best defensive centres in our team. Zero problems with him being at centre as he knows how to read shyte (whereas sua'ali'i... look... has been known to mistime the odd tackle at centre). Watson's also a farking gun. Moses and Gutho can get farked if they reckon one game's gonna make them lock-ins for Origin. IMO this is Wattaaaaaw's chance to show them a lesson or 2 anout consistency.

My main concern is Moses running rings around Jennings. I hope we limit his opportunities.
I also hope this rain stops.

Just hope we show tonight that the Eels are crap - and we are so much better than them.

                  GO ROOSTERS.

We normally go good against the Eels and I don’t expect that to change tonight.

Feeling much more confident with Conor back in the team he will straighten our attack up and clean up defensively and provide much better service from dummy half, Brandon has been average at best had some good moments just not enough for what he’s worth.

Our wet weather football needs vast improvement the kicking game will be crucial Moses/Brown have the edge here, hopefully we can overpower them through the middle to nullify this Joey Manu to have a big game really played bog average at FB 2 weeks ago well below his best, last minute change didn’t help but he’s better then that.

Chooks in a close one by 10.

Big game today coming into the origin interrupted game next week
expect Teddy and Watson to have big ones pushing for blues selection and Manu to bounce back after his off game
our forwards need a big one today to win the forward battle and keep Moses having to get them out of trouble
i was expecting a hatrick from young today with sivo jamming in but makes me a little nervous with him out and Jenko in

again who knows we will win but 30 + or loose by 6

I wonder if Dom Young did his hammy practicing his reads in defence or catching bombs. Parra will target Jennings for sure. Hope he's still up to it.
