If we are seriously looking at sacking Cheese, I don't mind it. Buys a couple more years for Moriarty to develop.

Problem with that is some club will offer Moriarty more than he is worth before we would promote him to firsts. The youngsters just don’t want to wait anymore and just grab the cash.

Yep like life & work in general these days. At my work we have 18 yr olds applying for front counter admin roles demanding $80k minimum.
Unfortunately managers have such pull over clubs these days as they’re always someone desperate like the Tigers/Titans that will pay overs for potential. Managers sell the kids the money side of things, not what’s best for their long term career. It’s proven that the higher ranked teams have more players in Origin & playing for their country which gives greater financial reward & builds their brand, but they sell them to lowly clubs for more instant coin. Just look at how many blokes come from Tigers/Titans/Dogs/Dragons in the rep arena. Some of them (a lot) are earning more than Kangaroos players, but they fade out or retire early & don’t see the long term benefits to their game, careers & finances.
