Well in the time honoured traditions of tacking on a vowel as in John becomes Johno. Or Matt becomes Matty

maybe we can nickname him: Nawaqanitawasey

        Nawaqanitawase's surname is pronounced "Nuh-wonga-neetar-wahzee"

Surely they could do better than just plain Marky Mark

        Only one Marky -Marky Ramone

Then we could call him Dirk Diggler.

Yeah sorry, autocorrect screwed me there.

I'm going to call him Mark N until I learn how to say his name.

Does anyone actually think he could play first grade this year? I don't watch Union.

I doubt he would be used this year, I imagine the value is just advancing his development and induction to the club.

I’m not sure if I’d prefer to see a backrower like Angus or Sitili in the centres or if Mark would be better.

Great move & it will give him a couple of months around the squad to train, learn as much as possible & to get exposure at NSW Cup level for remainder of the season. Gives him a solid prep & then a good pre season prior to 25. In saying that we are going to offer him a spot, but the Olympics may get in the way of that.
Also Manu confirmed it’s highly unlikely he’ll return in 25 as he wants to be the best he can & wants to learn more. I’d be surprised if he ever returned to be honest, but if so I think he will give Union a good couple of seasons to make a fist of it.
Interesting presser from Joey today. Said he'd like to come back one day and has only signed for one season with RU.

This issue I think with playing second rowers in the centres is that in today’s game, most are a tad too slow to deal with a lot of the outside backs. Just look at the Parra game, Crichton had a spell in the centres after Jenko went off, and don’t get me wrong he was a game breaker, but at times seemed too slow to deal with Penisini. Having watched a fair bit of rugby in recent years (except this one cause the Tahs were crap), Mark is one of the few players in Union that I think could make a successful transition. He’s certainly got the skill set, strength and speed to succeed at centre and wing. I feel like his only hiccup could simply be the understanding of the game and the faster pace.

Dr V. For what it's worth, Matthew Burke said on radio about a week ago that Mark would need a lot of work to be NRL standard/ready. Just what I heard. I guess wait and see.

Thanks for reporting that you're not sure 13. Duly noted.

Same. I love to be inclusive of people's names but am yet to find a way forward with this one. My hope is that when he comes onboard he'll make it clear what he finds respectful. To me that's the big thing with any name... not being a d!ckhead by making fun of them or forcing some racist/otherwise discriminatory name upon somebody. For me it'll be Mark N for now online (or just Mark? He's the only Mark other than Bouris).

I'm sure there will be a way forward with Mark. Once we start hearing it during interviews and on the tele it'll have way more of a ring to it (what is it anyway? Nah-wonga-too-easy or something? IMO we just need to hear it a few times).

BTW - betcha Gus Gould makes up his own version, confidently spruiks it and the chastises people when the real pronunciation comes out (e.g. remember when he called Mata'utia 'Matty Utai'? Then somebody was like 'bro... he's not Matty Utai' and Gus be like 'how stupid are those fools who called him Matty Utai?'
