That will very much depend on what his league background actually is. I know he played league up to age 14, but in what position? Defending at center in the NRL requires both experience at center and a good ability to read the play. If he doesn't have any of that grounding already, he would need time to adjust to playing center.

He only played wing or fullback for the Waratahs & Wallabies. He doesn't shy away from contact, and his defensive technique is solid. It's the decision making that is the crucial factor in him playing center.

I don’t necessarily disagree that he could be a strike centre. I’d be surprised that barring more injuries to our centres he’ll play. Manu will be back in 4 weeks, JS after the bye. He doesn’t get over either of them. The other issue I think is what we’re seeing with Hynes. Had a shocker in Origina nd now the vultures are circling and it’s clear it’s affected him mentally. Mark is still a young man, and the lights can be bright. Let him learn and dominate away from the lights and next year he can show us what he’s made of

Just remember Marky N has been playing for the tahs who have been getting hammered by nsw media and the wallabies who got hammered but the media and Eddie jones last year for failing at the RWC which is watched by 1.5 billion people
his name has been around and he has been tested on the international stage by some of the best players and teams in the world including the all blacks and springboks and was one of the wallabies best and shining lights last year
so the roosters and nrl media won’t fase him at all

Robbo made it fairly clear in the weekend presser that Marky wasn't being recruited this year with NRL in mind. Priority is to get him familiar with the system and maybe play a bit of Dub Cup.

Because he was one of the shining lights of the Wallabies. As for the Tahs, well I don’t think many have actively tuned into more than a game or two in the last year or so. Don’t get me wrong, he could absolutely handle it, but why risk it this year. Let him develop his understanding of the game against an opposition and media that won’t punish him for every mistake, because let’s face it, as a rugby convert, there will be plenty of eyes on him and Carter gordon

Fair points however we have a premiership to win and Robbo knows it. It's all about the window!
