I’m not concerned about losing him as much as our club’s attitude towards players. The club should have got Fifita’s signature on paper before telling players they could go to market. Some players like Toups are legends. How do you think he feels that he’s only getting another year because they couldn’t sign Gagai? Chrichton and Sitili should leave if the club treats its players like this.

Not sure why it is said that the Roosters cap is tight for 2025 - Manu/Suaalii/Keary/JWH leaving - some up grades - May/Sandon Smith/Pauga for instance

2025 squad - Players with known contracts for 2025 - so up to 10 spots to fill - No official word on any re-signing of Toops and Crichton as yet

Development players with contracts for 2025 - Not sure if they have been elevated to the 30 player NRL Squad- Ethan , Blake and Xavier were recently re-signed
        1. Xavier Va's
        2. Ethan Roberts
        3. Blake Steep

Off Contract - Not sure if any will be re-signed - Hopefully Lewis will be as he has had a wretched run with injuries so far.

Crikey gee people get so suckered by media reports. I no longer give a flying hoot about them as all Australian sports journos aren’t journos just tabloid crap and the NRL is full of it.
Who is coming who is staying etc I have no opinion on due to the clubs well run admin. I only read social media posting from the club. If easts fans are so pissed off with the bias of the NRL then stop enabling it by posting media stories here or even reading them as it adds to their revenue. Hit em where it hurts for those that resent the NRL.
I like the game and club but not all the associated bullshit of over 3000nrl released stories over a 27 week tv programmed comp.

If our cap is tight after losing some of our highest paid players next year, we have done some very ordinary deals.

Yet we keep hold of Billy Smith.

Sitili is still under contract and wouldn’t be able to be approached unless the club has allowed him to do so, as per previous media reports that the club refuted.

However, he may have to pass a physical or potentially wait out the cooling off period, if it applies to players that are released from contracts.

Journos talk to agents, who talk to clubs and players. They would know plenty more than they offer or what we speculate or wish for.

Very good point. It’s suicidal roster management. Also, the sour taste for us to have to see Toops running around for a year or two with another club purely because we were chasing a mercenary like Gagai, who has won fk all. That’ll do me. Anything but a premiership and I’d be calling for the board to be sacked over decisions like that. Need to treat our incumbents a lot better.

You make Roosters management sound flippant. Crichton was stuffing us around with union, not union, yes/no/wait/maybe. Roosters were attempting to control their own destiny.

I can confirm that there is no rumour in the truth. Reading some of the inane stories that journos come up with makes one cringe.

He's been named at left center this week. Maybe he'll find a new home there ... god knows we need someone.

Couldn’t have put it better, He as in Crighton is at fault for stuffing us around for so long, Bad form considering how the club carried him.

Yet, Angus still seems to be stuffing us around, and we keep taking it.

give him a deadline, and let’s get our shit sorted.
