  • Cup joy...

Great fight back by the young chooks! It's no secret Cup has struggled with consistent performances. But today, to watch the young brigade take the game by the scruff & own it, was so pleasing... young team...

Tait, Elliott, Foketi, Steep, Wong, Moriarty, Va'a (DLS) all stood up!

This time, add the class & experience Sandon Smith & Jennings (tbh the last time we played the Bluebags our NRL experience let the team down) & then we earn a well deserved hard-fought win.

Tait 4 tries (length of the field intercept in there, but great lead up work in his other 3).

Siua Wong 80mins, starts at prop then rotates to ball playing lock. no disrespect, but he's far more effective in that position than Docker-Clay has been all year. Steep starts at lock & moves to an edge.

It was a classic arm wrestle... we lost the territory & possession battle for most of the first half 18-4 at the break. But after the break, momentum began to swing & the refs calls were a bit kinder... this time we didn't hesitate to seize our opportunities & this time, made them count.

The talent is there, finding the maturity, structure, discipline, cohesion has been a big challenge this year.

Big scalp today... enjoy the spoils... battle again next week.

NRL tomorrow... give it to them boys!!!

What's happening with big big bros Xavier?
              Is he out injured?

                Aaah those were the days...
(Side note, there's a 2013 GF reference in there, I believe). I still tell my wife's friends that I bought her tickets to see Ricky Martin live (and went with her).

Thanks RP. What an embarrassing commentary though, surely they could learn the fkn players names for broadcast.

Tait is very quick with that high knee style reminiscent of an olden day Brucey Pickett.

                              Tait looks quite fast.

                              Better hang onto him.
