  • Why is Gordon Tallis not sued

I know this is raised frequently on this forum, but watching NRL Gordon Tallis AGAIN implies that we are cheating the cap.
He always says he is just saying what the punter thinks as a form of cover … IMO we can laugh and joked and say what a clown he is but at the end of the day he is saying on National TV that we are cheating, or a least it’s implied

I totally agree with you and was about to post the same thoughts.

It's time the club threatened to sue him.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

Unfortunately it isn't as easy as just suing someone for saying something you don't like or something that is mean etc. Roosters would need to prove that Tallis' comments directly have cost them money, reputation loss etc.

Why? Because no one in their right mind pays any attention to anything Gordon Tallis says. The guy is a couple of rungs down the Evolutionary Ladder, and won’t exactly be appearing on Mastermind anytime soon.

They have before. At Magic Round last year they told him to “put up or shut up”. He toned it down a fair bit since but (and I’ve stopped watching 360) if he keeps saying it publicly the club should drag him.

Idiot Tallis got into your head. His objective has been achieved. Shame on you.

"just saying what the punter thinks" What a coward! One day he'll push Uncle Nick too far.

It's not a case of "who care's what Tallis thinks"

It's blatant defamation constantly implying we are cheats. Using deception to gain an unfair advantage apparently.

He's not down the pub talking privately with mates, it's not a one off, he's constantly implying this crap in the media. He has a platform to spew this false crap to a large audience.

Thiis isn't park football allegations, its the NRL

                    Nothings ever been proven, he's a 1st class f'wit.

The club shouldn't stand for this constant baseless crap. I can't believe the club doesn't go after this fool harder.

By always saying we are cheats it's implying our so called cheating is costing other clubs the things you mentioned.

It's the boy who cried wolf in real life.
Nobody GAFF what he says except for those punters with the same FDC brain capacity and there are plenty out there.
What's funny is that he believes if he says it something is going to happen.
It's also funny that they get rid of a goose like Kenty and have a ready made meathead replacement. Fox just keep churning them out.

I haven't seen it but I assume he was referring to re-signing Gussy who is already in our books and losing JWH, Suaalii, Manu, Keary and Sitili that we are now over the cap.

Yep, that's what he was referring to, but of course he barely acknowledged everyone who is going.

He'd have inhouse lawyers on retainers who could easily draft a letter that would scare the shit out Tallis.

                              It wouldn't be hard.
