I know this is raised frequently on this forum, but watching NRL Gordon Tallis AGAIN implies that we are cheating the cap.
He always says he is just saying what the punter thinks as a form of cover … IMO we can laugh and joked and say what a clown he is but at the end of the day he is saying on National TV that we are cheating, or a least it’s implied

You can't defame a club, you can only defame a physical person. Also it's a relatively high bar which requires you to put a lot of facts on the table for trial by public.

Using that VC dude as an example... he's still an innocent man and has never been tried for any crimes. However challenging the media led to a deep dive into large media outlets' evidence that there's some 'probability' he could be a wife beating war criminal. Such matters can backfire emphatically and I doubt that an 80-something year old Nick Politis (who enjoys laughing at the haters) wants to put all his financial records on the table to demonstrate that there's zero probability he's ever cheated the cap over (how many years?) It would be an own goal. As it is, it's a compliment when people say we're cheats.
