    Bates at his best.
You've responded to the 3 points that i have made and they are all accurate.

Fact Number 1) Tallis complimented JWH. 2) Tallis constantly insinuates that the Roosters are cheating. 3) There are some on this forum that think you are a Souffs supporter.

I don't believe in the cheating nonsense, every team would legally cheat the cap in someway or another, I do disagree with you though that the teams only have themselves to blame though. The Panthers and Roosters obviously have a significant advantage over a Tigers or Titans.

If you're a free agent why move to Campbelltown and play under an inexperienced coach with a bunch of players who haven't reached their full potential when you can take slightly less and move to Eastern Sydney, live near the beach, play under a very experienced coach with a bunch of rep players for a club backed by a billionaire who likes to look after players in retirement?

That's where it becomes unfair though because due to geographical location, connections and other things out of a Tigers or Titans control they can't compete with a Roosters, Souths, Penrith, Brisbane etc.

              So according to the Tallis school of thought (if he actually has one);
              • Jack Wighton turns down a $1.1 million per season 4-year extension at the Raiders to sign for $750k a year at the Rabbits and that's great business acumen by the Vermin
              • Zac Lomax who is on $800k+ at the Dragons and is now an Origin player signs with the Eels for $650k and again it's just great negotiation by the Eels
              • David Fifita agrees to terms with the Roosters at fair market value of $850k per season, but because he is on $1million a year at the Titans he implies we must be cheating.
              • Chad Townsend is told he won't be re-signed at the Cowboys (Cows were paying him $800k), so we pick him up as a depth player for $300k and Encino Man compares him to DCE and again implies we are cheating.
              • Roosters are losing a plethora of high-profile players at the end of this year, but apparently, we aren't allowed to replace them without further insinuations by this 'genius' regarding our integrity...meanwhile the Bulldogs just keep on signing players like there's no tomorrow but that's okay.
Apart from being an A Grade moron, Tallis is also the living embodiment of a hypocrite, especially given all the years that he played for the 'Thoroughbred' sponsored team

Between his mindless, nonsensical and totally baseless rhetoric, and the constant Anti-Rooster articles in the media (some pathetic attempt to de-stabilise our great club), if I didn't know better, I'd think the Axis of Evil are terribly worried that we are a great chance of winning the premiership this year.

The problem with saying don’t watch or ignore the idiot, is it what he says helps perpetuate this rubbish to those idiot fans he talks about. Matty John’s is almost as bad, laughing hysterically if anyone mentions the Roosters don’t cheat, but Tallis goes on about the Roosters cheating on the field as well, mocking ‘the Roosters way’ saying continually. BRING BACK KENTY!

From Andrew Webster’s SMH column today.

Meanwhile, forget all this gibber about NSW winger Zac Lomax changing his mind on his deal with the Eels.

He hasn’t tried to back out of it at any stage, according to his management, thereby allowing him to next year take a $200,000-a-year pay cut to play in his preferred position of centre despite playing the best football of his career on the wing.

                  Makes sense to me.
I didn’t know Lomax took a $200k paycut to join the Eels! Webster would know as much, he’s a Dragons man.

If you add in $30k per Origin too, that’s a big loss. He’d be no certainty getting picked next year from Centre or Fullback either, especially if they lose.

If NSW win and he plays well, he’ll win the Wally Lewis medal. $13 at the moment

I don't think the smaller Cro-Magnon brain could compute such information.

I just want somebody to mention his Broncos squad of the mid to late 90's to him and ask him how much was on the cap and how much was chipped in by the Thoroughbreds. He is the epitome of Maguire's 'glass houses' call.

My understanding of the salary cap is that all the clubs receive the same amount of money from the NRL which would mean all teams are even but to be able to keep players in the NRL so Rugby or even AFL couldnt entice them away with huge amounts of money the NRL introduced TPA's which then makes the whole salary cap even theory go out the window. Some clubs like the Chooks have an advantage when it comes to TPA's.
People like Nick, Bouris & Gyngall have rich friends who are willing to privately sponsor players
You can have a 20M or 30M dollar team
Im not totally sure what the set up of the Thoroughbred was but they were able to privately pay players god knows how much extra (like the Chooks can) to keep them at the Broncos back in Tallis"s days of playing so technically they werent cheating the cap.
Let me make in clear I DONT THINK THE CHOOKS CHEAT THE CAP but they are able to use TPA's to a great advantage & its all legal thats what most other supporters who carry on about the Chooks cheating the cap dont get.
