ROOSTERS SQUAD v SAINTS
Round 18 - Sunday 7th Jul7, 2:00pm
Allianz Stadium, Sydney
This week is all about Jared Waerea-Hargreaves. Jazz becomes the most capped Rooster of all time on Sunday, surpassing Aubbo's record of 306 games. What can you say about a guy who has played over 300 games at NRL level in the middle. His toughness, aggression and leadership have been invaluable. He is almost irriplacable in my opinion. Regardless of how well Lindsay, Terrel & Spencer play next year, there WILL be something missing from our pack. No one can replace the aura that Jazz brings, and the raw intimidation factor that keeps the opposition looking out for him.
Edit: Some more about Jazz. I have serious man-love for this bloke. He has been the cornerstone of the Roosters' forward pack for more than a decade. This guy doesn't just play footy; he dominates it. With every bone-crunching tackle and powerful run, he commands respect from opponents and admiration from fans. His ability to turn the tide of a game with sheer physicality is nothing short of awe-inspiring. He's the kind of player who makes everyone around him better, not just through his on-field actions but through his relentless work ethic and unwavering passion. Jazz isn't just a player; he's a force of nature and an absolute legend of the Roosters, and the game. We are really going to miss his presence in '25.
A great result last week, with a continuation of our domination over the Tigpies. The only downer being the last minute try, and of course the injury to Manu. At least the news on that is not too bad, 4 weeks is a loss but it could have been the season.
Robbo's had a peek in the centers cupboard, and it's bare. Tupouniua keeps a center spot, but moves to the right. Jenko in at left center. The rest of the team is as expected.
So, that's 116 consecutive games without our best 17.
Saints have improved markedly since we put 60 on them on Anzac Day. They'll be up to try to make amends for that, but we have an ominous look about us, and I reckon we'll still win this one comfortably .. especially at home.
