I doubt he’s leaving. If he does we steal Coby Black from the Broncos

I can't see Sammy leaving any time soon.

But I can see him leaving in future.

I can see him heading to either the Broncos (most likely), or even the Dolphins/Tits.

Queenslanders are a bit fkd in the head - they see Queensland almost as it's own country, and the opportunity to play for Brisbane is like some illustrious feather in the cap akin to a national jersey.

Even Ben and Shane Walker can't help themselves, and even drop regular hints in the media that Sammy would like to 'come home' one day.

People like Tallis and co will actively sabotage us through the media as well.

All the Reynolds money is going to him. This is also why they are shopping Kotoni Staggs (who should be our top target) around.

The fallacy being that Sam grew up supporting the Bronco's. He has publicly stated several times that he was a Roosters supporter as a kid. He's also publicly stated he wants to stay with us.

Nothing to see here. Just "jounalists" (for want of a printable alternative) making shit up to create headlines.

I'll be very disappointed in him if he leaves.

Hard to say as players do take the cash rather than weigh that up against top 8 and premiership chances

Jerome Luia reportedly signed for 5 years with the Tigers for 6 mill plus. - Panthers were offering 850k.

If he was purely thinking top 8 and Premierships then he would have forgone the extra 350k and re-signed with Penrith.

              Cash/Money is King

              Money, get away
You get a good job with more pay and you're OK
              Money, it's a gas
Grab that cash with both hands and make a stash

That's going to jump to $1.1m per season over the next 5 years though

Depends where you're coming from. Jarome has already won three premierships and so the money may well be worth more to him.
If you look at someone like Wighton, or plenty of other players, I'm sure there are ample out there who would prefer to give up a few hundred thousdand across multiple years in order to potentially win some comps and play origin/for Australia.

I am very confident that Walker will stay, but if he does leave, I've got no doubt we'll field a very strong replacement. We have a lot of gun halves in the lower grades, and who knows who will be on the market at that point? No player is worth chucking your cap all out of whack.

The dynamics between the players and their clubs vary. Luia's has won 3 comps and has also played rep footy. He's ticked those boxes and now it's about setting himself up financially. In Sammy's case, we'd hope that he'd factor the desire to win a comp, the progression of his game, the culture of the club etc etc. He is also young! The big dollars can come later. He could potentially earn $1.2mill to $1.7 mill a year from the age of 25 to 34.

Someone made the comment - “ QLD separatists” made me laugh.
No finer example than the Bob Arum and Queensland Tourism rigged fight promotion for Horn vs Manny. Not once was Horn referred to as an Australian, always a Queenlandaaaar. Maroon is such a shit colour.

                              100%.

If anything, most sports stars get dropped at some point. Shane Warne, The Waugh brothers, Matthew Hayden. Harry Kewell was benched for the return leg against Uruguay in 2005.

That tends to happen when you already have won 3 Premierships and might get a 4th before leaving. I doubt Luia would go to the Tigers if he hadn't won a Premiership.
