  • Mark N highlights

Just came across this mashup of Mark N highlights. I THINK I can pronounce the name after watching it too (or at least how it's commonly pronounced within yawnion circles).

IMO he looks good... particularly in games against teams like NZ, France and Wales where he creates plays outta nothing. He also does a lot of Toops style strong hit-ups, tackles players hard 1-on-1 (and importantly... LOW! There's one where he grabs a rampaging, vertically challenged yawnion prop down low and dumps him on his back). Has a decent in-field kick on him.

Be interesting! Guessing he's used to doing a loooot of defending while playing for the Tahs :P

Yea he looks good as a potential NRL winger. Probably needs some work under the high ball and back field carries.

They're all pretty big in union so I wonder if he'll lose some kgs to cope with the endurance of the NRL.
Formerly Stringaz, from the old Wall!

He will be up against much better defensive and fitter players when he plays league. An exciting prospect though.

He's really good into contact, much like To'o. Some of those tackle breaks he makes are because he actually accelerates into contact and drops his body height enabling him to power through. Can play both sides of the field too, unlike a lot of league players which adds to his versatility

Did we buy him to be a centre? Tougher defensively.

Or does Young move to centre? I don't even trust him to defend the sideline.

Looks like he knows his way around a footy field. Good game awareness as well.
1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

Looks as good as a chance to make the conversion as any. Time will tell but those highlights show he has the power game to make it in league. Hes big and strong with good skills to match. I'm looking forward to seeing him progress.

If he can learn the defensive game he would make a good centre. Good to see him on both sides of the field. That try saver over the line in the 3rd minute was awesome.

Big strong lad who looks like will relish the physicality. Probably lacks genuine pace the downside. Beware the highlights reel...still haven't seen a bad one

                        Anyone can defend
it’s about how much effort you put in
Manu has shown at times to have average D and suaali has many areas he needs to fix
no ones perfect and will miss tackles
                        he will be fine

Yes love the look of him
this is why I think right centre would work well for him and keep young out wide for his pace

When the rumours of us signing him first started, I was talking about Marky Mark to a couple of colleagues of mine who are both mad union fans. They claimed he was a speed freak. Just goes to show that the best athletes are in the NRL.

Yeah...I'm setting a high bar I guess. Thinking of the devastating acceleration of Walsh and Mam, and the sheer speed of Koula and Saab. They are rarities though I guess, but gold if you have it in your team.
