Unfortunately, with an easy draw we will continue winning games playing touch footy. Robbo needs to deliver that kick up the arse or one of the top teams will do it for him in the finals.
There might be a very good reason for the club not wanting to honour Luke’s 1 year contact for 2025.

I thought it might be an easy draw, but manly are a dangerous attacking team, looking to jump us and take our top 4 spot, dolphins have proven to be a tough team, good defensively, and plenty of strike out wide.

im glad we play some tough games, with plenty of the teams still in top 4 and top 8 positions at stake.

this weekend should tell us plenty about the team, even though manu and jwh still out.

Les must have created a number of profiles on here for when he's red-carded. I noticed he came back as Marty and now resurrects the Water Boy. He is rather persistent.

I don’t think he’s quite made that clear enough yet.

Trent is a good coach but I do question the low bar the club seems to set in as much as we seem content just to make the finals and that’s it. Isn’t that kind of mediocre that despite different rosters over the years the poor discipline remains the same? The only common denominator considering changing rosters is the coach and his playing style and tactics which are a very high risk game depending a lot on luck rather than grind. Teams good at grinding put us away easily. So when is the bar going to be raised? When is our discipline going to improve and can it if you play such a high risk game?

Trew .. where are you ..come out to play!.
                    Not the same but WTF.
I call Trent these days 50/50 he either gets it really wrong or gets it really right...he wants consistency from his players and we need it from him.
I get it some players lose their mark especially when you have to use replacements all the time .Same players always going to the judiciary all the time.
2 weeks interviews galore on how from now on how there discipline is going to go up another level. Instead they did the opposite against Melbas.
His half has stopped running forward at the line. His short kicks gone off a bit and his goal kicking has turned to shit.
                    It starts there.
...and Hooray for Sitilli at center...lol a Trent special 50/50 call..godd for the lower teams but no match for the big sides.

After his mid life crisis last year Robinson's coaching has improved markedly. Personally, I'm all in for the risky attack which is by far more entertaining than the last 4 years dished up. Yes Dom Youngs play is like a box of chocolates but when it works it works. Just wished he played more than the 1st 25 minutes. He seems to be the barometer for the day. Shame Luke is moving on just when he started playing good again. I put alot of his and Sams improvement down to Radley no longer clogging up the plays as some kind of pseudo ball player. They get the ball quicker and have more time to call the shots. Since Radleys move to the edge his running game has returned. Only a guess but I think Luke will come back in 2 years, straight into coaching. Out of all the recent players Robinson can't say no to, Luke looks like the best coach in waiting by a long shot. I agree with the other bloke on here who said our recruitment sucks. Why we didn't go after Lomax, shopping himself at a discount, and the nearest like for like with Joey is baffling.

Right ok for what exactly atm? We haven't made
it to a prelim final or GF or won the whole thing.

The 1 from 20 stat isn't something to praise about.

Is our bar that low we must give praise when we start playing decent footy & beat the teams we really should anyway with the team we have.

Those standards are already part & parcel of Melbourne & Penrith the last 5yrs.

We seem to be in a time loop of the mid to late 90's where we made the finals but were not a serious threat & really just made up the numbers until change happened.

The only coach who has the runs on the board over the last 5 years is Cleary.

You can’t say Robbo doesn’t deserve praise, if he was to leave the Chooks every club in the comp bar Penrith & Melbourne would want him.
Since 2017 Cleary, Bellamy & Robbo are the only 3 that have won comps.
Since 2017 if the Roosters win the comp this year then Robbo has 4 premierships if Penrith win the comp this year then Cleary has won 4 premierships if Melbourne win the comp this year it’s 2 premierships for Bellamy.

I’m all for celebrating our past grand final wins and I do think Robbo is a really good coach, probably the best we’ve had, but FFS can we start living in the present. We have a team that is pretty hot and cold, usually ill-disciplined and missing depth in key positions. Our recruitment at times has been baffling.

As good as he is, Robbo does have a couple of blind spots, particularly his loyalty to players regardless of form/impact on results and playing guys out of position rather than giving young guys a shot at their specialist position, particularly forwards in the centres. As much as I like Sitili, he is not and never will be any good as a centre and there’s been plenty of poor positional selections before him.

I’m afraid that with our roster the past 5 years we should have done much better. Our high risk all or nothing gameplay gives up way too many errors which gives the game to the top teams.. If we learnt to grind we would be up there I reckon.

Are you taking into account the injuries and suspensions though - As I posted previous the Roosters had the most games missed by their best 17 than other teams did that played finals over that period

Do you actually look at the injury and suspension list to see who is missing ?

2023 Semi Final vs Storm for instance - missing Manu / Watson/ JWH/Toops/Suaalii/ Billy Smith.

Doubt many on here gave them even the slightest chance of winning - lost on the last play

                                The team that night was
                                1. Tedesco
                                2. Pauga
                                3. Momirovski
                                4. Allan
                                5. Paulo
                                6. Keary
                                7. Walker
                                8. Collins
                                9. Brandon Smith
                                10. Egan Butcher
                                11. Wong
                                12. Nat Butcher
                                13. Radley
                                14. Baker
                                15. Sandon Smith
                                16. May
