I was gonna say surely Keary can extend 1 more year with us as back up half and play that mentoring role rather than Townsend.. although he probably won’t want to do it for $300k

I don't know how I feel about this. I know that technically Kez hasn't done anything wrong, however if he is going to backflip on his retirement call, then shouldn't he first honour his contract with us for next year?

good luck to him. super league less intense than nrl, he'll earn good money and give his kids a chance to taste a different culture

Kez can't go another year in the NRL. This is his retirement.
He will only be working part-time and with the French tax laws he will still be earning decent money.
Probably be given accommodation and a car, finish work around midday and then go sightseeing with his family.
I think it's a good move, no doubt encouraged by Robbo and his French connection.
