What an amazing vein of form he is in. Destruction follows wherever he goes. I think good things are coming in September/October off the back of him.

Yep a terrific series from him and I loved his mongrel tonight. I was impressed seeing him gel with the Penrith boys in bullying Walsh (who IMO has been singled out as being a soft so and so when the times get tough).

One of his more dominant palms on Collins in the first half set the tone. He was flipping everywhere though... I swear there were multiple sets where he was involved in 4-5 tackles and just kept running over for the next without tiring.

Was also highly impressed by Watson tonight. Would argue that his touches played a big part in both tries. As did his general energy levels, which will hopefully follow through against the Drizz this week.

    ---

Wrapping both together I think it was lucky both of them clicked together as that first try (to me at least) looked like Crichton farked up the offload and Watto's subsequent pass wasn't much better either (though the speed and timing were more important than the silkiness). Coulda been a very different game/series without that clutch moment working out IMO.

I agree Watson should have also come in earlier

He is the best forward in the comp and it isn’t close.

Give Gus the origin captaincy next series. Its not like they will miss Jurbo's on field leadership.

Gus was a giant among schoolboys.

Well deserved from Gus had come back from rock bottom to finally unlock his full potential, it cannot be understated how well the club have done to get him right physically and mentally and he’s repaying the faith now, well done to our wonderful club and the support they have showed him.

What was surprising was his aggression intensity and ferocity the entire match, won the physical battle with Collins (about 26 mins he swats Collins like a fly)who struggled himself to contain Gus he got inside DCE’s head bashed and barged QLD all night long.

                              Thoroughly deserved.
