IMO he is well worth his spot for effort energy and defence. I do think his yardage game is affected by a lack of footwork at the line. He runs flat out and doesn’t get many PCMs as opposed to a May who hits it up slower but uses footwork.

He's always been an up and down prop when carrying the ball, I think he's just a lot more lean these days which is more suited to his role so he's not going to be as effective in bending the line.

He also only takes the hard carries. The play ones and two's which don't do anything for your PCM stats. Let's the more powerful runners like Crichton, May, Whyte & Leniu take the play 3-5 carries which is a real selfless act.

Yes agree that he has always been up and down. I also agree about the 1 - 2 hit up being selfless. It also goes to show how important Tupes is to our team. I have always loved is tough carries early in the count.
