Can't blame injuries or bad luck as they both have had the same happen to them also & we still cant beat them.

Fanciful to think anything will change come finals time.

Why cant Robbo find a way?

Another worrisome statistic is that we’ve only beaten 1 team in the current top 8, the bulldogs. Every other top 8 team has beaten us except we have yet to play the Dolphins. Teams that are any good are beating us. It seems to me our draw accounts more for our position on the ladder as all but one win comes from teams outside the top 8.

The finals are different games. It means Didley squat what happened during a season when the teams played each other.

Parramatta has the best record vs. Penrith and Storm.

        Parramatta: 2020 to 2024

5 wins and 7 losses vs. Penrith—3 of those losses in finals, including a grand final.

        vs. Roosters 2020–2024

        2 wins and 6 losses
We aren't Parramatta. Nor are we the Tigers or Dragons or Titans for that matter.

We have a top heavy team of current/former Origin & International players & a successful well respected coach.

When people talk Panthers/Storm as being dominant why are we left out of the equation.

Lose by 1 or by 30 we still cant beat them more than once in 20 attempts.

You seem to raise the white flag early & easy on this & have absolutely no questions of Robbo on this damning stat.

Answer this simple question - why are the Panthers & Storm so dominant over us the last 5yrs & why cant Robbo address it?

Saturday night was really disappointing. I was pretty confident we could go down there and get the job done but we came up short. I'd love to comment on what went wrong in the first half but we had a black out so missed the first 40 mins. We really lacked patience in the second half and had some brain dead moments too. Connor's sin bin and dropped ball, Smith sending the ball the wrong way on tackle 6 which resulted in Teddy handing them a 7 tackle set. That one was terrible, because we were perfectly positioned for a kick out to Toops and then we handed them the ball and an extra tackle. I think we miss that calmness that we played with under Cronk and tend to get a bit frantic when we are chasing the game instead of just staying in the fight and getting through our sets. Our short kick offs in the second half reinforced this, handing over cheap possession and field position instead of playing the long game. I'm hoping as time goes on, Walker will develop that skill set and become a more rounded player and we will become a better team because of it.

            I ran the numbers.

we have the worst record in the league against Penrith and storm since 2020. Worse than the warriors. Worse than the tigers. Worse than all of them.

that’s not just a case of swings and roundabouts. That’s an absolute horrendous monkey on our back that robbo simply cannot get off us.

Fact is regardless of how many points we want to rack up against the have nots this season, the teams that matter do not see us as a threat

              100%

There is no denying we have the 'yips' against these two teams. You can't deny they have our playing group mentally farked. If things don't change asap, they certainly won't get any better next year

on the face of it next year looks bleak as hell, but I dunno maybe with such a big change of blue chip players we might lose some of whatever mental issue we have with those 2 sides

So you think Cleary and Bellamey would prefer to meet us in a prelim or GF than any other team?

I actually think that Sandon has a cooler head than both Sammy & Kez. As much as I love Keary, he has never been a calm footballer (except in the 2018 GF when he has Cronk in his ear all game). I don't know why we play so frantically and won't build pressure, but I'm optimistic that we will actually improve on this front next year.

You're the one who has raised the white flag, and of course never miss a chance after a loss to put the boot into Coach Robinson.

Parra does have the best record of 10 from 21, but only 2 from 8 against the Roosters in the same period.

Some teams do have other teams measure for periods of time. I am sure people were saying the same thing when the Dragons won 11 comps in a row. Most likely, some teams back then lost every game to the Dragons, which would be 22 regular-season games at least during that period

Souths are 7 and 33 vs. the Storm and have never beaten the Storm in Melbourne.

It's a bit like the world series - Brooklyn Dodgers kept losing to those damn Yankees but finally won one - they were bums no more - no more " wait 'til next year "

lies, damned lies and statistics ...
obviously these stats aren't good but if we get the chance to play either team in the semis they'll mean nothing. it will be 0-0 when the games starts and if we play our best footy we'll probably win
