We’ll be right, Seibold is no Bellamy and their away record is poor (2 wins and a draw from 8 games). On the other hand they are 3-0 since Tom T returned and have to be taken seriously but we will beat them.

That being said I really hope we use last week’s diabolical performance as motivation to get things back on track. Hopefully Robbo is right and we can dominate the competition from here on in.
This 20 to 1 statistic is just unacceptable and embarrassing.
Come on Chooks.

Manly always like Melbourne turn up when playing the Chooks they beat us 21-14 in rd 2 then they beat Penrith 32-18 in rd 5 then they beat Melbourne 26-20 in rd 12.
Im not confindent at all.
DCE is still the best halfback in the comp
Turbo is lethal on his day.
They dont have all big name players in the forwards but neither did Melbourne last week.
Go the Roosters.
Agree with most your other points though.

Manly by 18.
The 3 tries their left winger and Turbo 1 and Turbo 3 will score with ease down Dom's sideline, past him, and past Sitili.
DCE will pepper Dom with bombs all game...with multiple tries scored by Manly.
Their left winger will score more than one try down the wing, he hugs the sideline.
...unless things have changed from how we played in the Storm game.

Klein is the referee.
Manly ran riot against the Titans, scoring tries at will out wide.
Saab in on the action too.
With Brooks dummying and sidestepping forwards it was a great victory.
How to beat Manly:
Our wingers to stay on their wings and defend the sidelines.
Centres to stay in the centres and defend there, not go wandering away further infield.
No one to go rushing up out of the defensive line and leaving holes for tries to be scored thru.
Dom to be peppered with bombs at training, coaches to show him how to catch them.
Dom coached at training how to defend his sideline....properly.
Our attack...Titans made 5 line breaks against Manly in the first 8 mins....hard running.
Run big players at Brooks all night.
Run big players at the line all night, thru the halves/centres...Wong would be handy.
Bash em, smash em, trash em (legally of course), around the legs and lower chest ...not the head...would be nice.
No getting sin binned!
No dumb off loads...Crichton.
No stoopid passes, ball security in tackles...do a "Storm", give them nothing.

This game is massive in terms of the context for both teams
Win and we stay in 4th and are 2 wins clear from our plus points, manly being 3 away from us and others 2 but our plus points allowing us to be 2 loses away from dropping off The 4
loose and we slip to 5th and would be tied with 8th and 9th on the ladder and fighting for a spot in the 8

I'm hoping that both being out played and ridiculed in the media will see us improve the backend of the season.

2013 - Won 5 in a row (R6 to R10) then lost 2 out of 3 including Storm. Then won 8 in a row (R15 to R23) and lost 2 in a row just before the finals.
2018 - Won 4 in a row (R12 to R16) then lost to Storm. Won 5 in a row (R18 to R22) then lost 2 in a row just before finals. Beat Storm in GF.
2019 - Won 8 in a row (R2 to R9) then lost 5 out of next 7 including Storm. Won 7 in a row (R18 to R24) then lost one just before finals. Beat Storm in prelim.
I never worry about the round games. Robbo clearly has a pattern on how to get the team to peak fitness and I remember having similar conversations in our winning years when many thought we were pretenders after a couple losses. Robbo runs them on heavy legs some games to get them to peak at the right time. Call it what you will but cyclic training is common in elite athletes. We certainly looked very flat last week compared to the previous couple of months and I wouldn't be surprised if it happens again this week before a run into the semis.
For me it is all about injuries. The last four years we have been badly hit far more than the Panthers and Storm. And ICGAFF that all teams cop injuries. We copped many long term key injuries and at the wrong time of the year.
If we come up against Storm or Panthers in the semis or anyone for that matter, there will be no psychological fear about any of them. We will be fit and ready.
The only people that think we have a psychological problem are the media and a few supporters.
As Jack said, we are here to win the Melbourne Cup. The rest are just lead up races.
We just need a full squad come the big games.

EDIT: Sort of and sort of not related but if you have a spare hour have a listen to Roosters Radio from a couple of weeks ago. The interview with Simon Jones our Head Of Performance is really interesting.Last edited by Inflictor; 07-24-2024, 05:31 PM.
