Not sure this team has the discipline or patience to win a premiership

I’m certain we can’t win the comp with Luke Keary in the team. He plays like a rookie when it matters most; fark all game management or composure. Ironically his defence has improved a little, but his decision making in attack is woeful. Piss off and let Walker run the team around the park and give Sandon Smith his chance. Why doesn’t this bloke ever get dropped for sub-par performances?

Brandon must’ve had 4 or 5 kicks out of dummy half that offered absolutely nothing tonight. There was one on 2nd tackle, in the middle of a 7 tackle set. Horrendous plays, got to let Walker play out the set and get the kick he wants away.

It’s almost like they got too easily to the lead and then felt like they hadn’t had fun doing it. So rather than grind out 5-10 minutes they thought they would have some fun - and it back fired.

Perhaps the answer is for Walker to assume the captaincy so that he can manage the game with some authority. BTW, Teddy was immense again tonight and has been playing out of his skin for most of the year.

At this point in his career Keary thinks that all of the daises that he throws are haymakers. I think that he subconsciously feels competition from Sam's 'off the cuff' creative style of game play, even though he is soon departed. What we need is a chalk and cheese half pairing with a steady head countering Sam's flair and creativity. We need a 5/8th that plays with structure and with foresight.

Joey S. will be sorely missed. He has so much passion and talent and I think that he will become a great of the game. Teddy is, mostly, playing superbly. If I were that Edwards guy, I'd talk to my accountant about the perceived loss of income.

Yep, the talent we have in our side trumps every other team's IMO.
We have the squad to win it, not the brains as of yet.

Panthers and Storm in that regard are miles ahead.

It doesn't feel like a premiership winning team but geez we have so much talent and can score points at will nowadays, Manly really weren't close to us at ground level - we physically had them on toast after 20 mins and for whatever reason started playing like morons. We somehow need to pull it out in the first week of the finals away at Melbourne/Penrith....we do that I think we may just pull it out on pure talent.

I am sure that things that need to be worked on and addressed will be - The players are humans and not robots so they can make errors of judgement at times.
